One year of Trump. One year of unprecedented conflicts of interest.

Donald Trump’s sprawling set of businesses – and his refusal to divest his financial interests in hotels, golf courses, restaurants and real estate developments around the world – has presented a unique set of conflicts that previously were unimaginable for the president of the United States.

Never before has a president owned a private club in Florida that hiked its membership fees shortly after the president took office and sold $750 tickets to a New Year’s party. Never before has the president of the United States owned an international real estate empire that’s deeply entangled with foreign governments and sold dozens of condominiums to secretive buyers.

While some of Donald Trump’s businesses, such as his hotel in Washington, D.C. have clearly been helped by his presidency, others such as hotel ventures in New York and Toronto have been hurt by his infamy. But most alarming are the array of interest groups trying to cozy up to Trump by spending money at his properties.

Public Citizen has documented...64 instances of trade groups, companies, religious groups, charities, foreign governments, interest groups, and political candidates staying in Trump properties or having events there. Examples range from the American Petroleum Institute to the Billy Graham Evangelistic Association to a conference for the vaping industry. The visitors identified by Public Citizen include:
• 35 political candidates or political organizations
•16 trade or interest groups
•4 charities, including one run by Donald Trump’s son, Eric.
•4 foreign governments
•3 religious groups
•2 individual companies
•1 college football team

Why does this matter? Trump’s investments still benefit Donald Trump...

“Donald Trump entered office with the most blatant and potentially corrupting conflicts of interest in the history of American politics, and things only got worse from there,” said Robert Weissman, Public Citizen’s president. “Business is booming at the Trump International Hotel in D.C., not because of the décor, but because corporations and foreign governments want to curry favor with the president.”

How many of those groups used Trump locations or ones similar in size and location prior to this presidency?

If Trump is benefiting, why has he lost over $1,400,000,000 in about a year and a half or so?

None of this makes a bit of sense. Did we track who bought Obama's books post presidency, to see if people were currying favor with him? The purchase of a book, compared to Obama's net worth, is about the same as using a Trump location compared with Trump's net worth (even as it lowers). So, the comparison is apt.

There comes a time in psych/mental health counseling where it becomes necessary for adult clients to be called on their behavior if they - for every problem/situation - resort to hysterics, ad hominem attacks, deflections, projections, tantrums, etc. in an attempt a) for attention or more importantly b) to dodge adult behavior. When this happens counselors/shrinks know the client is "holding an empty hand." This infantile behavior shows maladjustment and a refusal to act or face the world in an adult manner. While The Left & #NeverTrumpers assuredly would like this to be said about Trump I would disagree (and would cite Scott Adam's "Win Bigly" as support). Instead, I suggest Trump's detractors send themselves to a corner (where there's a mirror) and enjoy a time out for a little self-reflection. These unrelenting screeds, screeches, and hissy fits are not at all a pleasure to read/listen to and truly reflect badly on their authors/speakers.

I find the leftprog hatred of successful people somewhat perplexing considering so many of their more visible members are mega millionaires themselves. Their insanity is on display in statements like this..

What kind of moron would expect the cost of gaining the Presidency to be voluntary self impoverishment?? Ironically, the founders originally hoped that high political offices would be sought and held - and for only short periods of time - only by successful men of means and education. Men with sufficient wealth and business income to be able to afford to take the time "off" to help run the country without compensation for doing so. Some of their worst fears are clearly on display now that we're inflicted with a very wealthy "class" of political animals that only hold office for the sake of holding power and wielding it very much to their personal financial benefit. The Pelosis and Reids......

Your comparison as usual makes no sense. But what else is new. The profit from the sale of Obama's books would go to the publisher once the book is sold. Obama at most would stand to earn $1 per book. The big money with books comes with advances before they are published but as usual you demonstrate you ahem no idea how anything works,

Trump has continually personally enriched himself through the presidency, Just because his net worth has gone down doesn't mean it wouldn't have gone down more had he not insisted on visiting his own properties with secret service and staff in tow almost every other weekend.

If they are staying at Trumps hotels at least they are getting something for their money.
What did countries involved in Hillary's Pay for Play get when they bribed her when she was S.O.S.?

How can Transporter be so sharp on Trumps business and know nothing of Hillary taking bribes.

Do you have proof of that or is that what you heard from Faux news? EYE roll
