"After years of over taxation, regulation, and mono-party politics the State of California and many of it’s 58 Counties have become ungovernable," the group said in a statement, citing a "decline in essential basic services" including education, law enforcement, infrastructure and health care.

All states should do that - break off from their big city #### hole and leave them to fend for themselves. Wouldn't it be great if we didn't have to deal with Baltimore anymore? Hell, build a wall around it. Throw them some food scraps every now and then.

The wall needs to go around Montgomery, Prince Georges and Northern Charles as well as Baltimore.

Maybe you'd be better off building a wall around yourself.

Truth: if electoral votes were doled out by voting district instead of winner take all, progs would never win another election again. Not state, and certainly not federal. A quick peek at any electoral map shows that rather decisively.

You only think your crap is popular - it's not really.

Well, since there aren't enough Electoral vote to represent each election district, the only real solution would be to dole out Electoral votes by Congressional district, leaving the two extras dole out as winner take all based on the statewide total. ME and NE do it this way.

And just to further point out the ignorance of this post....

There is no electoral college for local or state votes.

There is no electoral college for Senate or House races either.

YOU are one who posted about the "snowflakes" who were whinning about Senate representation of small states. You just expressed the exact same whinny, ignorant sentiment.

And the real truth of the matter, if you actually want to face it, is that if congressional districts were drawn fairly (using the common definition of "fair" not the Donald Trump definition) then our politics would likely be a lot less acrimonious and our country would be in a lot better shape....for politicians would then be forced to run to the middle instead of the extreme.

life if PG is OK ... we have a mega casino

Yeah. Ya know once Southern Maryland had slot machines.
Waldorf was a boom town Southern Maryland Counties were doing well, but it was decided gambling was bad.
The one of Mike Millers friend in North beach got slot machines.
Later St Mary's business owners figured a way to share with charities and they got some machines.
The Charities were doing well, but it cut into the lottery money so they took out the machines.

Ehrlich asked for Gambling---Democrats Sh1t themselves.
Mom O'Malley asked for gambling---democrats gave it to him
Southern Md. got no Casino's

Now who owns the casino"s Out of state people ,MGM,The Cordish Companies.
People who can pay large bribes to crooked politicians.

Tell us more about this definition of fair as applied to the shaping of districts?

Let me:

If Democrats hadn't gerrymandered districts to give their party an advantage, perhaps there wouldn't be so many Democrat majorities in state legislatures because there really is very little support for extreme progressive policies. And then peace and harmony would reign.

You mean that people kept finding ways to cheat the system? Like the pull tabs.

There are many problems that come with pull tabs.
Hardly worth the effort ,unless the crowd is large.

There is about a 20% profit with pull tabs and tip boards. We have Charity Gaming at our Eagles, we have two machines that dispense 10 different pull tabs. We do Bingo twice a week and that grosses 20 to 30 grand a month. If it's run correctly it's very profitable.
Our trustees fill the machines every other day or so and the bingo side of Charity Gaming sells there own pull tabs. Anyone that is involved with gaming cannot play any pull tabs or tip boards.
So bingo workers, bartenders, kitchen help, trustees and all other elected officers cannot do pull tabs and tip boards. They can play bingo, buy 50-50 tickets, buy tickets for the weekly Treasure Hunt Game, the daily drawing ( 250 bucks ) and the weekly drawing (2000 bucks )..

We used to have that problem, we voted and changed who can't do certain gambling..
Why on Earth would you let trustees that keep a the numbers on what winning tickets that have been redeemed on each different pull tab is crazy.
You could close the bar on Friday night and there might be 400+ pull tabs left in one game and when the Eagles opened on Sat morning that slot would be empty.
The trustees meeting at 7am.. they would check on what tickets that paid out were left, and if it was a positive they would buy them all..
