I don't know why the eff a singer thinks that they need to add their "spin" to the anthem, just sing it the way it was written, straightforward.

THIS! It's the freakin' National Anthem, and it's difficult enough to sing properly; it's not a vehicle to demonstrate one's odd trills, caterwauls, and vocal range.
