In a shocking revelation in a New York courtroom, a primary witness for state attorney general Eric Schneiderman who is pro-abortion herself, admitted that she created a fake Facebook page in order to entrap pro-life counselors and the attorney general’s office was aware that she had done so, while never instructing her to stop or delete the information she gleaned from her fraud. As a matter of fact, the attorney general’s office equipped the woman with a concealed video camera so she could record pro-life counselors in front of an abortion clinic.

The case in court revolves around Schneiderman’s request for a preliminary injunction prohibiting pro-life sidewalk counselors from coming within sixteen feet of the Choices Women’s Medical Center in New York City’s Jamaica neighborhood.

As LifeNews reports, when Thomas More Law Center (TMLC) attorney Tyler Brooks cross-examined the woman, she admitted creating the Facebook page under the fake name of Shelly Walker. Life News continues:

The witness described her elaborate scheme to entrap the unwary pro-life counselors named in the Attorney General’s lawsuit. She went to great lengths to invent an entirely fictitious identity; using someone else’s photo she had found on the internet, listing her occupation as a bank teller and stating she was from Saginaw, Michigan, even posting weather reports from Saginaw, as if she were there. Moreover, in order to make her Facebook personality of Shelly Walker appear legitimate, she sent out hundreds of friend requests, friending hundreds of pro-lifers throughout the country. She purposely searched out pro-life and conservative groups and even claimed to be a supporter of Ted Cruz and Father Frank Pavone, an ardent pro-life Catholic priest. She fabricated an emotional personal story of being talked into an abortion by her husband, whom she later divorced (none of it true).

Life News points out that at the end of January, speaking on NPR’s All Things Considered, Schneiderman boasted of his crack-down on fake identities, impersonations and fraud on the internet. He said, “Well, our primary focus is on impersonations of real people. So we're concerned about New Yorkers whose identities might have been used. We've been looking into issues related to fake identities. And impersonation is a crime in New York.”
