FL to Ban Gun Sales

Gov. Rick Scott, R-Fla., announced Friday his state will no longer allow the sale of guns to people under the age of 21 years as part of his administration's plan to enhance school safety after last week's high school shooting in Parkland, Fla.

"We will require all individuals purchasing firearms to be 21 or older," Scott said during a press conference Friday morning.

Time to change the voting age to 21.

Sure could see that one coming; no surprise there. I bet some other states do the same.

So.... when all this #### doesn’t do a ####ing thing, as we all know it won’t, and the next shooting happens, all this hysterical legislation will expire, right?

Probably not, but it opens the doors to change a lot of other things to 21. I'm so freaking excited!

So let's get this straight we shouldn't listen to these teenagers because they are immature and not fully developed yet but we should let them buy guns?

Y'all are whacked

How old are they when we put rifles, missiles and machine guns in their hands and train them to kill?

Scott is a little bitch.

He is a little bitch indeed.

It's annoying to watch these moronic politicians chase their tail to appease the ignorant screamers. Do they plan on changing the age at which you can join the military as well? Because it's pretty asinine that a young man can join the Army and be sent off to war, yet cannot legally purchase a gun.

Agreed. But how about a few "Heinlein" wrinkles...?

First, age for DRIVING, voting, guns, tobacco, lottery tickets, and alcohol goes up to 26 (the max age kids can stay on their parents' health insurance).

Second, exceptions: serve a successful 3-yr enlistment (honorable discharge) in the military and you can do all the above at 21 (longer enlistments would qualify for the exemption at the 3-year mark; officers are not generally commissioned until 21 (or so) anyway, so they could get the exemption granted upon successfully completing the respective service's initial officer training). Peace Corps or other "national service" would not count.

If parents complain about the driving part (too burdensome for the parents), then maybe our permissive parents will start acting like parents and start parenting our little brats in being responsible young adults.

Flip it around fella... We should be listening to them because they are mature enough to have valid opinions on these things, but not mature enough to handle a gun.

And we need to eliminate about 50% of our military forces because those under 21 cannot be trusted with a firearm. It relieves me to know no more of our children under 21 won't be killed on the battlefield anymore.

You know what the difference is ? The military forces receive training.

So what! That would just make him more proficient at killing school kids when they flip out. This is about maturity, not training.
