I have to admit, it's not any less impersonal than a drive-up window.

I stopped at a McDonalds in Hagarstown and walked up to the counter and ordered, after I went and sat down i saw kiosks to order at, they were all the way out in the dining area wtf?

I typically don't want to talk to a human, but the kiosk at the McDonalds in whatever podunk town I was in was a CF. I thought I understood the instructions on the screen until I got to the cashier, who told me something different. Turned out the screen was right. So maybe the answer is to take the humans *entirely* out of the process.

I used one of these in Arkansas a few months ago. It was the most un-user friendly, difficult PITA kiosk I had ever used. No logic to it at all, couldn't find anything I was looking for, doesn't tell you if what you ordered was from the standard or $1 menu so you weren't sure if you got fries with that......
