Speaking of making up our minds... this country can't seem to make up its mind ...


For instance - 18 years old makes one a consenting adult.


18 year olds can be tried as an adult.
18 year olds can watch pornography with impunity.
18 year olds can PRODUCE AND ACT in pornography with impunity.
18 year olds can consent to all sorts of freaky-deaky sex with every other adult human being on earth.
18 year olds be conscripted in to the United States Armed Forces and sent to foreign lands to be turned into red mist.
18 year olds can vote, arguably the most dangerous power one can wield in this country.




But for some reason, they can't drink.

Nor, apparently, can they be trusted with a weapon* - not even to defend their property and home, which they are legally able to buy and own.








For the record - I am, and I have always been FOR under 20 year olds owning firearms.



So long as they're over 18.

I make that distinction, because, in your disingenuous appeal to emotion, you lumped Legal Adults (18, 19 and 20 year old grown-ass men and women) with infants, toddlers children and adolescents.







*Unless, of course, said weapon is used to impose The 'Merkin brand of Red White and Blue Freedom on International Brown People whether they want it or not.

I don't know about Gurps, but I am for keeping the law as it is and changing the drinking law so that 18 year olds can drink beer and wine.I also believe that if a 14 year old girl can decide on her own to abort her baby she can decide on her own to give consent to have sex.
