2. Libertarian Votes

Libertarian candidate Drew Miller captured more than 1,300 votes, a little more than twice the margin separating Lamb and Saccone.

“We don’t always get a Libertarian candidate, but it’s probably safe to say most of those votes would have gone Republican,” J. Wesley Leckrone, associate professor of political science at Widener University in Chester, Pennsylvania, told The Daily Signal.

“That’s not to say a 1 percent victory would bode well for Republicans,” Leckrone said. “But I know a lot of disenchanted Republicans who just vote Libertarian because they won’t support the Democrat.”

Democratic strategist David Axelrod, a former senior adviser to President Barack Obama, also noted the potential impact in a tweet.

The Democrat spent 5 times the money the Republican had to spend.
Money talks and BS walks.

Wow...the rationalization is THICK!!

Hijinx...wrong as usual..in fact you have the numbers completely backwards...outside R money was roughly 5 times higher than outside D money ($10M vs $2M0

"Trump-lite"---whewie...you might want to put down the kool-aid and come up for some air...the oxygen might help your brain function better. Please go pull up the adds the Rs ran against Lamb and then say he was Trump-lite.

The plain fact of the matter is that Trump won the district by 20 points...Trump, Trump's kids, and Pence went in to rally support for Saccone...and Saccone lost. Trump is an albatross...it is amazing you all can't see what an anchor around the neck of the Republican party Trump is. How many votes switched because Trump was too stupid (?) or impetuous to wait till Wednesday to fire Tillerson?? Trump's a buffoon.

The Dem's had no business winning that race...they ran a decent, moderate candidate instead of some far left wing freak but they still had no business winning. The only reason any sane rational person can point to as to why he won is that people are getting fed up with the absolute mess that is Donald Trump. Sick of the porn star BS...sick of the contradictions...sick of the inability to formulate a coherent and consistent policy on anything...sick of the chaos and turnover.

I didn't say that the Republicans ran him as Trump-lite. I said HE ran as Trump-lite. His positions were pretty much all in alignment with Trump's.

Link to that analysis?

I said a couple of days ago, the DNC is going to be running 'conservative' democrats to take seats back ...
however Pelosi and company [maybe others further left ] will still be controlling the Message

Democrat ran as Trump-lite.

And you know the second his ass hits the seat he'll be banging with the gang and doing whatever Nancy Pelosi tells him to do. All these "moderate Democrats" coming out of the woodwork are a scam, and voters will fall for it because they always do.

That was kind of my point. The way for the Dems to win back the House is to run as Trump. What they do after that has nothing to do with how they ran (kind of like how Republicans ran on repealing Obamacare, and have not accomplished that feat).

I have no doubt back home in their 'district' they may hold ideals similar to Trumps and Maybe Be Conservative like, the problem is, THOSE Ideals do not translate to changes in the party Politics IN DC.
Leavers of POWER and the Party Platform / Agenda are still controlled by the Progressives ... aka Pelosi, Hoyer, Feinstein ... etc
Funded by Soros and others

yeah if voters think sending a Blue Dog Democrat from their County to DC is going to change the Party Agenda .... well a sucker is born every min
