Is there anywhere in SOMD where you can donate old mattresses and box springs, vice taking them to the landfill?

You would have to be pretty hard-up to have to sleep on someone else's old mattress.

If they're clean and stain-free, and you get a mattress cover, should be no biggie. Back in my poverty days pretty much everything in my home came second-hand.

We always used a cover. Also, ditto on the used furniture including milk crates and cinder blocks.
