Target and PB&J's

The mom with the child who is highly allergic to peanuts clearly feels that it is incumbent upon the world to make life a little easier and safer for her and her child.

She's wrong about that.

But, that's what happens when you have an entitlement society - a society in which offending someone else is actually considered a problem. Granted, offending and potentially harming someone for real are two different things. But, we're not talking about walking into a crowded mall and firing a machine gun in random directions while telling people to get out of the way of the bullets. We're talking about eating the deliciousness that is a peanut butter and jelly sandwich. If she's worried her highly-allergic kid might touch the remnants of someone else's smeared PB&J, she should walk around with wipes and clean every surface her child may touch - everywhere, all the time. It is not up to everyone else to change their normal lifestyle for her kid's issue.

Couldn't agree more. I was just on a Southwest flight that was deemed "nut free" due to someone on board with an allergy. You mean to tell me they wiped down every square inch of that plane from the previous flight, where surely everyone on board enjoyed their mini bag of nuts?
