I thought the royals had staff to do all the unpleasant activities.

God bless the USA
Who cares? Elizabeth is holding out and not giving the throne to Charles. They have their own modern intrigue, just like their predecessors; doing anything they want. And, they screwed it up since Henry VIII. I can’t remember who posted it, but they referenced Londonistan. Which is, exactly, what it is happening there. God save the Queen, or not. And, to think these people tried to rule America. We won. :patriot:

:yahoo:

I love how the official Royal announcement is worded: "Her Royal Highness The Duchess of Cambridge was safely delivered of a son at 1101hrs."

Another 'royal' to sap up the Brits' taxes. Must be nice to be born into such wealth at the expense of the people.

Some of us care, which is why AP posted the tread. :coffee:

Elizabeth is enjoying a long & healthy life, so why should she give the throne to anyone, much less Charles?

Foxhound and I recently enjoyed binge-watching the web series, The Crown, and are anxious for the next season to begin. Out of most of what I've seen or read about Queen Elizabeth II, this series has really captured what I think has been her true devotion to "The Crown" and her role as The Sovereign. There are so many instances where you see her personal struggle withpersonal & public issues and situations during her life. Her official positions as The Queen were often quite different than her personal positions, however, I feel she has affected a lot of change in the Royal family customs, as well.

Doesn't Britain have public health care?
Isn't every child born there at the expense of the people?

You apparently do not understand what is all involved with the royal finances.

Here's where the royal family gets their money

"Every year, the Queen gets a chunk of cash called the Sovereign Grant.

It comes from the treasury and it's funded by taxpayers"

"The Queen's private income is called the Privy Purse.

That money comes from the Duchy of Lancaster— a portfolio of land and other assets that's been in the royal family for hundreds of years. It includes 18,433 hectares of land and is made up of residential, commercial, and agricultural properties.

From 2015 to 2016, it generated £17.8 million (about $21.7 million). According to the royal family website, this sum helps with costs not covered by the Sovereign Grant — namely, it's used to pay "expenses incurred by other members of the royal family."

Everything they earn has, in one form or another, come from inheritance. Land taken from the people, and used - over hundreds of years - to make a profit. The rest comes from taxes. Not one bit of their wealth did they actually work for and earn.

That sure frosts your balls doesn't it.
Don't know why it bothers you, you are American and it doesn't cost you a penny.
If the Brits didn't like it they would end it.

Doesn't matter anyway it will soon be a Caliphate and it will all be gone.

Yup! I'm amazed at the stupidity that these people still give any credence to royalty, and pay out the ass for it. They essentially do nothing more than look pretty and haughty. Brits seem content with having about a $98 billion deficit while supporting their royal welfare program.

None of this accounts for the nearly $2 billion that the Windsor Mountbatten brand puts into the British economy. And that doesn't even count the amount of money the Royals raise for charities through their trusts.
