“Sixty-nine percent of Marylanders approve of the way Hogan is handling his job, an increase from 61 percent in February, according to a Goucher College poll released Tuesday. It’s his highest approval rating in the Goucher poll since fall 2016.
He receives praise across party lines: from 65 percent of registered Democrats, 64 percent of independents and 81 percent of Republicans.”

Wasn't he in the 70's at one point?

Not that 69% approval is anything to sneeze at - especially for a Republican in a Blue Hive - but I could've sworn he was way higher before.

Now, if only that would transfer to a few more conservative reps and senators, both state and national, it would mean something.

Just proves all your crying and bitching about how Liberals are biased and just hate Trump and other republicans because of party affiliation is false.

When you have someone who respects the system and works for the interests of all his constituents party affiliation becomes less important.

Wrong.

Hogan doesn't have to contend with a hostile 4th Estate that constantly whips the mob into a foaming rabid lather.

The democrats have rigged Md. too badly for that to ever happen. Unbelievably Gerrymandered Maryland_Congressional_Districts,_113th_Congress.jpg

Think about how dumb that statement is.

Wouldn’t it be in the so called fourth estate interest to do exactly that given a largely Dem populations and A Rep governor?

Mkay.

Maybe - if the dem population showed any sign of switching ... which Maryland clearly is not.

Also the so-called fourth estate doesn't often concern themselves with state-level government, unless a governor has Presidential aspirations. How many people outside of Maryland know who Larry Hogan is? Hell - how many people outside of Maryland do you think actually know who Martin O'Malley is. Unless you're dealing with a character like Chris Christie, the media doesn't really gun for State Governors. And even Christie did more damage to himself than any media.

Local papers like the Sun may be interested in state politics. CNN and the like (i.e. the aforementioned 4th estate) are not.
