WJXT reported on the botched home invasion that occurred around 4 a.m. on April 15 when a group of as many as seven criminals shouted “Sheriff’s office!” as they burst through the door of a mobile home in Glen St. Mary, Florida.

The first masked man through the door fired at least one shot from a handgun but was met immediately by a resident of the home armed with an AR-15, as well as another armed with a 9mm handgun, who returned fire in self-defense against the intruders.

The man with the AR-15 estimated he fired all 30 rounds from his rifle’s magazine.

That first man through the door was hit by multiple shots, as were the two other intruders who followed closely behind them, forcing the crime in progress to be called off and the home invader crew to attempt to flee the scene as fast as they could.

The mobile home’s residents immediately called 911 and rapidly responding deputies intercepted the crew of criminals as they sped away from their botched operation. Five individuals were placed under arrest for the home invasion and the wounded criminals were transported to a hospital, where one who was shot in the head was later pronounced dead.

Shows why 10 rounds might not be enough.

What it shows is that Police breaking into a home and shouting police are asking to die.
No homeowner knows who is breaking in and shouting Police doesn't mean sh1t.
You break in in the middle of the night and you need to get shot.

There is no reason for any gang of men , police or not, to come into your home in the middle of the night armed to kill you.
There are other ways to make an arrest.

This is pure bullsh!t. Those 19 year-old experts on civilian-assault-rifles from Parkland, FL tell us nobody EVER defends himself from injury with an AF-15. It just doesn't happen.

The man with the AR obviously didn't get the message that you don't need a gun to take down an armed shooter. James Shaw proved this.

Lordy you people are such f***ing sheep.

Not one of you Mensa wannabees bothered to look up the original story???

This was no home invasion....it was an armed conflict between two rival gangs...

Five people are charged in the case. Investigators suspect the home invasion escalated from an ongoing feud between two groups that was stoked by social media threats.

...

The Sheriff's Office said the five individuals charged in the case were among a group of seven that went to the mobile home that morning to confront and fight the group staying there.

I'm not sure why they say a shotgun wouldn't have worked as well? Seems like a lot of rounds fired for only hitting two.

You mean those five who invaded the home of the others didn't mean them any harm and the ones living there were wrong to protect themselves.?
Damn you are smart.

Didn't the article say that the first perp had multiple wounds? Doesn't account for 30 rounds, but a few more than 2 hits.
