it is broadly stating that there are no succesful pot smokers, besides cheech and chong (as in, nobody who smokes pot can be successful).


in THIS (and more correct statement) he states that these are the only two people who actually made a career OUT OF pot smoking



The important parts are bolded

Yes he knows of two that are successfull. Surely there's more but he only is aware of two is how I read those statements. Ughh... nevermind , I'm not going to sit here and argue about what Asp meant. Let him explain himself.

Well thats all good for the people who choose to smoke pot and can keep there lives together but it's not for me anymore. When I just lots a baby and is pregnant and my Dad hands me a blunt and tells me everything will be ok theres something wrong. And yes someone can lose everything just from pot. When you are stone and you drive you are not 100% there and you can wreak and die. When you teach your child how to smoke pot and bring pot around your children socail service will take your children. That's how my Mom got my lil bro and sis. They are adopted. Social services took them from there birth mother because she would get high all day and not feed her kids. I'm not saying that all pot smokers are like that but there is a good amount that are. I am proud that I stopped! I just wanted to share my happiness with you all!

On 4.20 I will be 6 years free of marijuana. I quit smoking on that day when I looked over and realized that i was smoking pot with my Dad and Brother. We were celebrating something so stupid. I have wasted so much of my life by doing that. I was so ashamed at what I was doing. It was shortly after I quit I realized who my true friends were. They are stilling smoking and doing other drugs and have nothing to show for it. I am very proud of my self. It was very hard. I was living in the house with my Dad and brother and the temptation was out of control. I ended up working two jobs and going back to school to get my high school diploma. I hope one day that my Dad and brother would get a wake up call before it's too late. I know some people think I am crazy for posting it, but i want people to know that you can change your life around after drugs. I'm 25 happily married with 2 beautiful children. I couldn't ask for anything more.

CONGRATULATIONS TO YOU!!! I dated someone for awhile (18 years ago), he was 27 at the time, still smoking weed and it was so stupid. Needless to say, we didn't last long but I have no idea if he ever gave it up. People can change their life around if they really want to and you obviously did but some don't or can't for whatever reason. Luckily you didn't become a statistic.

Congrats on getting out! Its hard when its family. It's not like friends or associates where you can just kick them to the curb. I think your doing great!!

Personally I don't want a pothead flying the plane I'm on, or cutting me open to replace a heart valve.. or my life depending on him/ her at an accident scene..

And the best thing that happened to the Army in the 20 years I was in, was when they started urinalysis and got rid of over 90% of all the potheads we had.. At least all of the Enlisted potheads, I never heard of an officer burning a piss test and getting kicked out, and in no way am I naive enough to think there were no officers doing it.

Congrats on the sobriety/anniversary. I think it may be hard for our fellow forumites to stay focused very long on the topic at hand. Don't let it sway you from being bold and giving a little bit of yourself by divulging your history. You just never know who may be affected by it.

Pot can be the downfall of man just as any other addictive entity, so long as you turn yourself over to it. Some choose to seek a better way of life, some choose to deteriorate until there is no place left to go -> that's a good place for jails, institutions and death to come in.

Most folks who seek to turn it around have to remind themselves to celebrate their acheivements and courage. You don't become whole again overnight, just as you didn't find yourself an addict overnight. (well most didn't )

And for those who interrupt the thread for semantics or arguments I say, you could quite possibly phuck up a wet dream.
