4 year old recreational basket ball

First of all....is there such a thing? My son currently plays soccer and when that is over he'd like to try basketball. Does the northern end of St. Mary's have any recreational basketball teams? When does something like this usually start?

I think rec & park basketball doesn't start until 1st grade. Its call "biddy basketball" for 1st and 2nd graders and is all about learning the game. They start playing in 3rd grade.
