43 shot and 9 dead in Chicago, and they still have a day to go.

Now I see why Chicago needs illegals. They have to do something to keep up the population, but all kidding aside Chicago is ready for martial law.
It's a war zone. And 99% of it is coming from one source. A source that anyone who says the truth of what race is doing the killing is considered a racist.

I have read much about the Henry Ford Museum in Detroit, they actually have a small town there.
There is also a hydroplane museum located there. I would like to see both, and I figure I could stay in safety in Ann Arbor and rive in, but I do have some misgivings. Anyone ever go there?

Ive done the HF a few times over the years.
I took my nephews and my son. With all the slums I worked in with Otis, I have no fears.

Stay in a decent hotel, drive to the tourist attractions (or take cab/uber/whatever). If you are hanging out in tourist areas in the daytime you will be fine. Stay out of the parks at night, stay out of the run-down neighborhoods (it's very obvious) during the day and night.

You'll be fine.

Besides, even if they do shoot at you is sounds like the odds of you getting hit and then dying are somewhere between the odds of dying from COVID and changing a lightbulb without turning off the circuit breaker.

Dearborn is (or was) actually safe.
