The richest person that I personally know has a vending machine route, not even good ones, the shitty lance vending machines that have less than 10 items in them. He looks unassuming wears what looks like a work uniform, drives a small pickup truck and after two to three hours of work a day returns to his 6500 sq ft house on the golf course at the local county club and hits the links.
I know quite a few guys like that..Cash businesses allow quite a bit of leeway in bookkeeping.

One of my former brothers in law had a coin-op laundromat. When I found out how bad he had treated my sister, dimed him out to the IRS.
It took him 15 years to pay off the IRS and Massachusetts.

My sister never went short as the Court in Mass. pays alimony and child support. He was responsible for reimbursing the Court.

It was so bad, that when my sister sought an annulment so she could remarry (Catholic), the bishop and his council talked to her for over 2 hours. They talked to him for 15 minutes. The Bishop's secretary called her and said (in paraphrase): "Anne Marie, we are amazed you gave that man 15 years of your life. The Bishop is not only granting the annulment, but is waiving the usual donation."

He's on wife #3, and is a janitor in Florida now.

We need Beer Vending Machines here at work.
When I was a young lad of 11-13 years or so, my grandfather-the-retired-admiral would get us a room at the BOQ on Key West (it's gone now) for a week every summer and I'd go snorkeling and scuba diving to my dark little heart's content. But the best part was discovering that the vending machine in the common area, where the pool tables was, was stocked, not with soft drinks..it was stocked with beer. Good times...

Awfully caucasian of them.
For that particular Bishop, yes. He retired a year later and friend of my maternal grandfather's became Bishop.

A few years later, when Papa D'Orazio was in the hospital due to a severe concussion complicated by a minor stroke, he was giving the doctors and nurses a bit of trouble, wanting to go home. Bishop McGuire heard and visited my grandfather. He told him (in paraphrase) "Tony, you will be a model patient from now on, follow the directions of the doctors and nurses, or I will excommunicate you."
