If you are a Christian and think tolerance of the homosexual choice is showing love, read this. If you won't take the time to read it in its entirety, then at least read the bold section toward the bottom. Letting people think it is OK with God to continue in sin, any sin, is not showing love.

Friday Digest</pre> Top of the fold -- "Gay Days"? The reality of gender-disorientation pathology...

This week, many an unsuspecting American family will travel to Walt Disney World, where they will find themselves at the epicenter of a recurring cultural earthquake. There, at America's favorite family destination, hordes of homosexuals will congregate at Pleasure Island for an annual exercise in societal entropy. "Gay Days at Disney" they call it -- though it is anything but.

"Gay" in the current vernacular is, of course, the term used by the fashionably PC to describe homosexuals. In dictionaries just a couple of decades ago, however, this same adjective meant "happy" or "a state of high spirits." A century ago, the primary definition was: "licentious, lacking moral restraints, leading a debauched or dissolute life." The Gay '90s, for example, were the final decade of what Mark Twain dubbed "The Gilded Age," an era of unmitigated opulence and unrestrained immorality among a subculture of the elite.

In light of this earliest definition, we're reminded of the inimitable words of that great American philosopher, Yogi Berra: "This is like deja vu all over again." Indeed, today's "gay" culture is equally dissolute, and its agenda is anathema to the bedrock institution of our past, present and future -- the American family.

Leading the charge in homosexual advocacy are groups like the American Civil Liberties Union, and their strategy has heretofore been an effective one. The ACLU will select cases in U.S. Circuit Court venues where the Left has installed a majority of judicial activists -- those who do the bidding of constituencies like homosexuals, in effect ignoring the Constitution and legislating by judicial fiat. It is these same judicial activists who affirm such issues as same-sex "marriage" and same-sex partner benefits.

The homosexual legal agenda notwithstanding, the question all enlightened Americans should be asking themselves in order to understand better the moral implications of this agenda is, which definition of "gay" applies to the homosexual subculture in America? In order to answer this question, one must gain some insight into the pathology of homosexual behavior.

The shifting paradigm of sexual morality is a source of much controversy in America. Homosexuals, though less than 3% of the population, are at the center of this controversy. The secular rights of consenting adults are in contest with the timeless natural order of the family and society.

To discuss the issue of homosexual normalization, we must move beyond the "pro-this/anti-that" labels and dispel a false dichotomy -- one that has infected our dialogue on the issue of homosexuality. Homosexual advocacy groups often rebut dissenters by branding them as pharisaical, intolerant and judgmental -- ad hominem accusations which serve only to preclude a consequential discussion of the issue. Of course, one's heartfelt disagreement with the social agenda of homosexual advocates has no direct correlation with one's capacity to love or have compassion for others. Nor is such dissent necessarily related to judgment, which is God's alone. Rather, it is about discerning between right and wrong and obedience to objective truth -- as opposed to conformity with a contemporary code of relativism whose tenets are "tolerance," "diversity" and "inclusion."

From a Judeo-Christian perspective, it should be noted that objective truth does not constitute law without grace. In fact, law in the absence of grace is meaningless -- little more than oppression. However, grace in the absence of law is, likewise, meaningless -- little more than licentiousness. Law and grace are, in fact, different sides of the same coin.

Understanding aberrant sexual behavior is the critical first step toward healing it. Homosexuality is sometimes a promiscuous lifestyle choice. Often, however, as understood by many medical and mental health specialists, gender-disorientation pathology is associated with childhood or adolescent sexual and/or emotional trauma and/or abuse. Additionally, homosexual modeling by an authority figure -- often an influential person with access to the victim through the family, church, school, neighborhood or media -- can result in gender-disorientation pathology.

Homosexual victims often compensate and cover their pain by manifesting some degree of narcissism -- an unmitigated expression of self-love. They compulsively indulge in aberrant sexual behavior to avoid reconciling the pain of abuse or homosexual modeling.

Additionally, while there was rampant speculation a decade ago about a "homosexual gene," that theory has been repeatedly rejected by both the scientific community and national homosexual advocacy organizations. It should be noted, however, that some children may be genetically predisposed to exhibit masculine or feminine characteristics associated with the opposite sex -- putting them at greater risk of being targeted by homosexual predators and more susceptible, psychologically, to homosexual modeling.

It is no small irony that the most outspoken advocates for the homosexual agenda are equally outspoken about environmental issues -- preservation of the natural order. Even the most humanist of these advocates must acknowledge the obvious -- that homosexuality is a clear and undeniable violation of the laws of nature.

Given insight into the pathology of gender disorientation, to abandon, under the aegis of "love, compassion and inclusion," those who struggle with homosexuality, is tantamount to abandoning a destitute soul in a gutter.

In the final analysis, there is nothing "gay" about being afflicted with gender disorientation pathology. Nor is there anything redeeming about those who would use a family theme park to advance the homosexual agenda.

2A, again, why are you honing in on hate instead of love that the Bible teaches... we all have sins but time and time and time and again you pick out a fault (the same exact one time and time and time and time again) that some other Christians have. Everyone sins 2A, why don't you every deviate from your "2A is always right spiels" about gay people to some other sin such as - people that work on Sundays or something
Although you post your hate for gays under a religious section to avoid wrath of other forumites, I do not think it should also give you the rights and liberty to disparage gay people. They can't help being born gay no more than a black person being born black or a white person being born white... I'm really starting to worry about you and the amount of hatred you have for your fellow man, especially those that are gay. Instead of doing this to get a rise out of folks why don't you post one of the bazillion other sins that are mentioned in the bible You are like a broken record...hate-gays.... hate-gays... hate-gays.... hate-gays... How is this Christian?

It's not a matter of hating gays; I think it's a matter of loving people enough to try and remove bad things (sins and sinful relationships) from our collective lives, by telling them what's wrong and what's right. And the Bible and God, not 2A and others like us, make that determination.

Are you without sin? If so, feel free to throw the second stone as 2A has already thrown the first one again. All I can say, must be nice to not have sins and be ABOVE THE DESCRIPTIONS OF ALL THE OTHER SINS in the Bible.

I think it woudl be more Christian to say... Sloth, I have a problem with sloth and here are the passages in the Bible dealing with it... does anyone else have any other insight they'd like to share so that I may better MYSELF and strive to be the apple in the Lords eye. No, time and time again, its about gay people. All folks get from Bible Thumpers is bruises on the head about sins the preachers themselves are squeeky clean and free of - I view this as a semon of self-exaltation than the betterment of Christian society and leading by example personally. The saying is those without sin throw the first stone... not those without this PARTICULAR sin have a free for all stone-fest.

It isn't a matter of showing love, it is a matter of showing judgment, and clearly something you, nor I, are not in a capacity to do. 2A, we all sin, sin is all around us, and we do it every day, because temptation is everywhere and life isn't easy. So, no matter who you are and what your religious beliefs entail, we all sin, but judging others is clearly what the bible tells us not to do. Right?

You can be stubborn and your opinions grounded, and well, so are mine. You will not change what I believe or how I feel very often, so I don't expect what I have to say will change your view, but I want to toss something out there.

If a mentally challenged person commits murder, it is still murder; they have committed a sin. But, we, as a society, have come to accept mental illness as a self-defense, yet we have no x-ray that shows somebody is mentally ill. We don’t look at pictures of their brain and say “ahh, I see the problem, these connections over on this end of the brain are not properly connected,” because there is no way to find this out unless you sit down and talk with them extensively. This is when you’ll find that their thoughts and beliefs are so imbedded into their psyche that they believe it is true. You cannot change those beliefs and neither can I no matter what you may have to say.

Now, look at homosexuals, what if those thoughts, lustful desires are imbedded into their psyche? It is the brain that says this behavior is acceptable, and society can repress that behavior, but it isn’t going to change the way they think and how they feel. It is believed that 22% of the overall homosexual population was just born that way, programmed that way and there is no medical evidence showing differences between that group of homosexuals and a group of heterosexuals. Meaning the doctors just don't know why.

Now 2A, maybe God put mentally ill people, homosexuals, handicapped and evil people out in the world to see how we react to them, and it is OUR reactions to these people that will lead to our own judgment in the end.

The way I see it, it is almost like a catch 22, if you support their efforts, then you feel as if you are supporting them in a sinful lifestyle, but what if you suppress them? Will they join our churches, become Priest, and eventually participate in homosexual behavior there?

You always sound like you go to "The Church of Anything Goes".

There is a day coming when God will not forgive. That day may be when a person dies and it is too late or the day of judgment for all. If you don't think so, you are sorrily mistaken.

Better for you to be disappointed than for anyone to be mistaken about sin being against God's will.

And nowhere in anything I have ever posted or quoted does it say "hate-gays". That is your hang up; not mine.

All I see from Dems and Kizzy are excuses for not striving to live as Jesus commanded, not suggested, commanded us to.

I am not without sin, but I would be guilty of greater sin to approve, even tacitly, sin that is flagrant and not bring in to the open so that people have a chance to repent and change their path to that prescribed by God and not their own desires.

You didn't have to say it - your actions speak louder than your words sweetie... and as you have admitted in the past - there is only ONE unforgivable sin... and being BORN gay is not it  Why do you continually grind the axe against gay people and their way of loving but don't grind the axe on any other sin  If I were to read all your posts, I'd swear you thought that was the ONLY sin in the Bible - not one in a plethoria of sins. Why don't you exert half the energy you do in gay condemnation and put it towards talking about the 10 COMMANDMENTS, etc... the playing field in your eyes is uneven... gays over here and 1,000,000 other "OKAY- by-2A" sins on the other side. Face it - we all have sins, and need to learn to love eachother in spite of our sins, just the same as the Lord has shown us. What are you not "getting" about this concept?

Homosexuals are welcome at the church I go to, but they will still be told that they need to repent and give up homosexual behavior.

Are you holy? Do you know ANYONE in your church that is free from sin? No, you don't. You just say to yourself "PHEW!!!! he's not gay!!!" You need to broaden your horizons on other sins that we as humans have. Personally, my biggest one is being slow to anger so with that... I need to work on my shortcoming and stop reading and devoting any more time to your preposteriously, injudicious comments on the matter.

We may not agree with others behaviors, homosexual, abortions, open marriages, whatever it is or isn't in our structured belief system, but the bottom line is the bible says do not judge. It isn’t your job, 2A, and it isn’t mine. It is God’s job and he’ll do it in the end. But sometimes, when I read things like this from you, and maybe others reading it may think the same thing as well, it does seems as if you are quick to ostracize anyone who doesn't live exactly as it is outlined in the bible.

I don't care what you see, you always see things to cater to your own self-serving, self-righteous, indignations anyways. I doubt seriously you read the Bible how to better yourself (being judgemental) but instead to belittle other FELLOW sinners such as yourself. The Bible was not put here on earth for that purpose. I'm sure glad God judges me in the end and not you, if it was you, noone would be in heaven, including yourself.

As a human being, I doubt he even comes close to living the life that is outlined in the Bible.. no one does  and that's why we repent and ask forgivness and strive to work on our OWN SINS... I guess he's already fixed all of his :ohwell:

Pride goeth before destruction, and an haughty spirit before a fall. Better it is to be of an humble spirit with the lowly, than to divide the spoil with the proud.

As with many issues, my feeling is the problem of PUSHING the issue, rather than the actual issue. I have quite a few gay friends and have lost friends to AIDS. It's hard on everyone, gay or straight. I don't judge because I don't expect you to judge me, but I just returned from Disney and I didn't notice any heterosexual couples being overly affectionate, or even going so far as to make out in the parks. I did however see MANY same sex couples engaged in these activities. It's Disney World for God sake! I don't care if you're making out with a man or a woman of a gorilla, it's NOT the venue to do it in. Here in lies the problem I have with the gay community. It's not a brand new thing, probably been around since the dark ages, and people have always lived with it. The more you shove it down people's throats and in their faces and on their vacations, the more volitile the issue becomes. When I meet someone new, I don't feel the need to say I'm so and so and I'm straight. Keep your private lives to yourselves and there won't be anything to judge.
