5k fun run/walk to benefit local food pantry

a 5k walk /run to benefit the local food pantry & soup kitchen. There will be activities for children. Prizes for the top finishers,such as a dinner out certificate.

awesome door prizes donated by local businesses. "Movie night basket", "games night basket" etc.

A special appearance of a local sports celeb!!

Registration begins at 7:30 am and the race starts at 8:30 The cost is $20.00 to participate. activities for children are free. To be held rain or shine...

We will also be taking donations of dry & canned goods on site the day of the event

St. Mary's county governmental center, family friendly (walk course will follow sidewalks around the campus)

I'm interested. Is there a website for early registration and/or more info? I did a quick Google search but didn't see anything fitting the description. Unfortunately I'm still not as familiar with this area as I should be.

No pre-registration is available. you can register from 730- 830 prior to the race. You can pay with cash or a check. all the money collected will be given to the food pantry & soup kitchen.

Today's County Times has a write up on the walk.

I think it will be a lot of fun for the adults and the children. There will be face painting, a punt-pass & kick challenge for kids, ... and rumor has it... someone special will be cheering on the runners & walkers

hint: he's blue !!!
