i just had to post that i love your little subtitle, fromtexas... "vrai's trunk monkey"! whenever i see that i chuckle!!! i love the trunk monkeys!!! :yay:

coming from maine i have to sit back and have a laugh about all these HEAVY snow alerts. 3-6 or 5-10 inches is not heavy snow. don't get me wrong - i'm excited for the white stuff... i just think it's funny that tomorrow ALLLLL the reporters will be on street corners in the district with their rulers in the snow. funny stuff.

We do tend to freak out don't we. I'm hoping for enought to take off and have some fun with the kids.

I thought we were still getting 3-5 inches. Didn't the cancellation just mean we weren't getting over 5?

No. That is a misconception... I don't mind heavy snowfall at all. That means my truck gets called out by the state and "ca-ching, ca-ching". I do hate snowfall that ends up being 4 inches or less. That is enough to make driving conditions treacherous, but not enough to shut things down so we are still expected to get to work, or get to school etc. That is usually the snowfall we get in this area, so that is why I'm considered to be a snow grinch. :ohwell:

I got this e-mail from NBC4.com

Issued at: 10:57 AM EST 12/5/05, expires at: 7:00 PM EST 12/5/05

Heavy snow warning remains in effect until 7 am est Tuesday.
A heavy snow warning remains in effect until 7 am est Tuesday.
Low pressure developing over the gulf states will track northeastward over the carolinas this afternoon, and then well east of the delmarva tonight.
Snow will increase in intensity this afternoon, and continue into the evening hours. Between 3 to 6 inches of snow is expected to fall across the central shenandoah valley. 4 to 8 inches will fall across central virginia and southern maryland, including charlottesville, fredericksburg, and solomons.
This amount of snowfall could cause significant and widespread travel problems. The weight of the snowfall could also cause some power outages. If you live in the warned area, it would be a good idea to check your winter storm survival kit. Also, if you must travel during the height of this storm, carry a winter emergency kit in your car.

WE got heavy snow. Not more than 4 or 5 inches of accumulation, but it's very heavy, wet (frozen solid) snow that broke tree branches and stuff.
