but you will go there if you so choose.

John 3:16-21

16"For God so loved the world, that He gave His only begotten Son, that whoever believes in Him shall not perish, but have eternal life.

17"For God did not send the Son into the world to judge the world, but that the world might be saved through Him.

18"He who believes in Him is not judged; he who does not believe has been judged already, because he has not believed in the name of the only begotten Son of God.

19"This is the judgment, that the Light has come into the world, and men loved the darkness rather than the Light, for their deeds were evil.

20"For everyone who does evil hates the Light, and does not come to the Light for fear that his deeds will be exposed.

21"But he who practices the truth comes to the Light, so that his deeds may be manifested as having been wrought in God."
See, God loves you. He loves me. He loves all of mankind. He hates sin.

We each have murder, theft, homosexual acts, adultery, fornication, pornography, divient behavior, cheating, every type of sin within our hearts. We each know right from wrong, light from dark, righteousness from sinfullness. We each choose to sin or not. Man qualifies sin; bad sin, not so bad sin, really bad sin, is that really a sin - everyone does it; really, really, really bad sin. God sees all sin the same, worthy of death.

Romans 5:12Therefore, just as through one man sin entered into the world, and death through sin, and so death spread to all men, because all sinned--
Romans 6:23For the wages of sin is death, but the free gift of God is eternal life in Christ Jesus our Lord.
Each of us has a choice; believe God or don't. By that choice, we choose our destination.

"But the devil and hell aren't real" and "everyone will go to heaven" is even taught by some "Christians". Then why did God bother to send Jesus to be crucified and resurrected. He could have not bothered if everyone goes to heaven anyway. The truth is "the devil and hell aren't real" and "everyone will go to heaven" are a couple of the biggest lies satan has ever pulled on the human race.

There are two destinations.
Matthew 25:31-46

31"But when the Son of Man comes in His glory, and all the angels with Him, then He will sit on His glorious throne.

32"All the nations will be gathered before Him; and He will separate them from one another, as the shepherd separates the sheep from the goats;

33and He will put the sheep on His right, and the goats on the left.

34"Then the King will say to those on His right, 'Come, you who are blessed of My Father, inherit the kingdom prepared for you from the foundation of the world.

35'For I was hungry, and you gave Me something to eat; I was thirsty, and you gave Me something to drink; I was a stranger, and you invited Me in;

36naked, and you clothed Me; I was sick, and you visited Me; I was in prison, and you came to Me.'

37"Then the righteous will answer Him, 'Lord, when did we see You hungry, and feed You, or thirsty, and give You something to drink?

38'And when did we see You a stranger, and invite You in, or naked, and clothe You?

39'When did we see You sick, or in prison, and come to You?'

40"The King will answer and say to them, 'Truly I say to you, to the extent that you did it to one of these brothers of Mine, even the least of them, you did it to Me.'

41"Then He will also say to those on His left, 'Depart from Me, accursed ones, into the eternal fire which has been prepared for the devil and his angels;

42for I was hungry, and you gave Me nothing to eat; I was thirsty, and you gave Me nothing to drink;

43I was a stranger, and you did not invite Me in; naked, and you did not clothe Me; sick, and in prison, and you did not visit Me.'

44"Then they themselves also will answer, 'Lord, when did we see You hungry, or thirsty, or a stranger, or naked, or sick, or in prison, and did not take care of You?'

45"Then He will answer them, 'Truly I say to you, to the extent that you did not do it to one of the least of these, you did not do it to Me.'

46"These will go away into eternal punishment, but the righteous into eternal life."
And you can see in verse 41 that hell, the eternal fire, was prepared for satan and his angles not for you. Satan just wants you to be with him. Sin kills eternally if it is not forgiven through God's grace.

You can choose God's way and follow His plan and your very nature will change and you will want to do the things that Jesus speaks of including caring for the needy. Christians are not perfect. Most of us were a real mess when we came to our knees before Jesus. He took us just like we were and, as we yield to His will, makes us more in His likeness. We are not perfect, but we are better, through His grace, than we were, and we, through His grace, will be better.

I have seen, "You hate homosexuals" or whatever or just the accusation that I hate. I have even seen people post that God hates. What is more compassionate, telling people what they want to hear so they continue down the road to hell or telling the truth in hope that they will be convicted by the Holy Spirit and change their ways? Jude said it.
Jude 17-25

17But you, beloved, ought to remember the words that were spoken beforehand by the apostles of our Lord Jesus Christ,

18that they were saying to you, "In the last time there will be mockers, following after their own ungodly lusts."

19These are the ones who cause divisions, worldly-minded, devoid of the Spirit.

20But you, beloved, building yourselves up on your most holy faith, praying in the Holy Spirit,

21keep yourselves in the love of God, waiting anxiously for the mercy of our Lord Jesus Christ to eternal life.

22And have mercy on some, who are doubting;

23save others, snatching them out of the fire; and on some have mercy with fear, hating even the garment polluted by the flesh.

24Now to Him who is able to keep you from stumbling, and to make you stand in the presence of His glory blameless with great joy,

25to the only God our Savior, through Jesus Christ our Lord, be glory, majesty, dominion and authority, before all time and now and forever. Amen.
So by love, compasion, mercy, and even through fear, by whatever means I can, I proclaim the gospel. God did not create hell for you, but you can choose, actively or passively, to go there.

Yes. God is love. He loves you so much He provided a plan of salvation; He provides Christians and ministers and priests to tell you the truth. If we have to try to scare the hell out of you, so be it. It is only because we love God and we love you.
