There is a fire somewhere. They just said. There was a dead bird that was found, that they want to advise smeco, dead turkey- that might have caused the fire, next to the green house. The power blinked earlier, then came back on. There was no fire in the green house, think when the animal hit the ground that is what they think caused the fire.
GOOD LORD! Well, I will be sure to hit up the online scanner next time. Pretty scarey. I knew something was up when my neighbor went screaming out of here.

I've seen squirrels & snakes, but never a bird, cause power outages and fires from arcing power lines...he must have had a pretty big wing span.

We had a cat crawl up inside a fuse box here at work. Somehow he shorted out a fuse that was about as big as him and took out power to the whole building.SEABREEZE 1957 said:Poor buzzard!....

Hadn't seen that, but I remember seeing a bear , I think this was in AZ, that had climbed up a power pole and in an attempt to get him down they shot him with a tranquilizer dart. He fell and hit the transformer on the pole and set off a big shower of sparks. I don't remember if he lived or not.keekee said:

Yep, it was a long time ago. Everyone thought people who saw it were crazy until they finally trapped or killed it. I don't remember that happened to it.buddscreek

the bear was shot in mechanicsville near blackbeards. the bear is on display at point lookout state park.
