9 Yr old Male Boxer Running out of Time - Picture in thread

All,

There is a 9 yr old male Boxer in Frederick, MD. His owner became homeless and has been forced to live in shelters. After boarding his dog for two months, he couldn't afford the $900 charge and was forced to sign over ownership. He was crying as he did this, but had no choice.

This dog was very well loved and cared for, he is sweet and good with other dogs as well as cats. It's a shame to think this poor boy will have spent the last few months of his life only to die alone. (THIS BOY ISN'T SICK, what I mean is that if he doesn't get adopted then he will have lived his last few months in a cage, not understanding why)

Boxer rescue has been contacted, but they have no room to take this senior boxer. This boys time is almost up and they are out of options. They will only release this dog to rescue and http://www.awlfc.org has been working this.

Please contact either me, or Karen at webmaster@awlfc.org - Transport will not be a problem, I'm sure if we all work together any issues can be dealt with.

thanks and please forward to anyone you think might be interested.

Curious...if the $900 fee is paid, can the man have his dog returned? Is he still homeless?

Is the dog sick? Why does he only have a few months to live?

Only release to a rescue? Does this mean he's not available for adoption?

No, the dog isn't sick, but they won't hold him much longer. That's why his time is limited.

The man is still homeless, so he can't have the dog back.

YES, he is up for adoption!

(Sorry I wasn't clearer, sometimes I seem to be the only one that understands me...)

Here is a picture of Bruno

Definitely a "distinguished" looking gentleman... I'm hoping someone has room in their home and heart for this guy!

Nice looking fella. I have all I can handle now. What rescues have you contacted?

I'm not sure who all the other group has contacted. They said they have contacted the boxer rescues who all keep saying they are full. I'll see if I can find out who they have contacted though.

There are other rescues that aren't breed specific. I can't remember the names...they're out in Virginia. They pretty much let the animals live out their life on the acreage.

What happened to Katie's post.

I deleted it because I want to talk to him tonight, and not stop someone from taking an interest in him.

Just to bring this guy back up for attention - he probably needs to have his teeth cleaned, but they say he is good with both cats and dogs.

This wonderful old guy found a new home here in Southern Maryland! I brought him down from Frederick to meet his new family and he has settled in just great, the kids love him and he seems quite content to rest on his new bed and play w/his new toys!

It's a wonderful thing when people are willing to open their hearts and homes to the senior's that find themselves homeless through no fault of their own.

Thanks again to a wonderful family!

now, how about the dog? is there any chance that he will be found a home also?

Thank you. That's the first time I've laughed out loud in over a week.
