It was awful watching the video. They aired it on the news last night with a warning that it was brutal.

They interviewed the man afterwards and his poor face was welted up. I was trying to figure out if the old man was grabbed and held while the carjacker punched him or refused to let go of the vehicle. (not that mentioning that matters) but it takes a real mo fo to punch an old man like that.

He has been charged with Carjacking, which carries a penalty of up to life in prison

One can only hope they bring in a judge from outside Detroit (say Alabama) to impose the sentence.

What impressed me is the gentlman took a beating like that and after treatment was released. Geez...taking that many strikes to the jaw ya would have thought a person would have hospitalized at least a week w/ broken jaw.

Definitely agree, but in Maryland you'll never see it until the crime gets so bad even the liberals will be screaming for it.

Bugged me too. What do you do though? I've never been faced with the situation of seeing this and would like to think that if I was, that I'd have enough courage to intervene. Have absolutely no idea of how though -besides calling 911. What should be done until help arrives? Often thought about it just don't know the answer.
