Southern Maryland bracing for blizzard

Do you believe this silliness. All news channels are reporting we'll get a dusting of snow. They predict the sun will be out by mid-morning on Wednesday.

So what do you see at the Highway Department. Dozens and dozens of dump trucks filling up with road salt and plows readied.

FOR WHAT!!!

Will anybody ever stop this madness?

Well there are A LOT of roads in Southern MD, and a lotta people gotta get to work, most of them cant drive for crap in the snow. Plus its always helpful to be prepared.

I do agree that we go a little overboard with preparations for snow though.

Each flake will freeze to whatever surface it lands on. You want them to treat the roads before they get slick. You don't want the EMT crews to have to work round the clock tonight. For godsakes woman, think of HurricaneDan.

But most of them can't drive on a clear, warm, beautiful day. :tantrum

But please, by all means, report your snow totals on the thread that Dan creates for snow totals.

They are ensuring that we don't get squat. Whenever they are prepared, we get nothing.

The worst is when they assume there will be nothing, and we have dozens of cars slide of the road.

It's like my father in law: since he bought his snow blower, there has not been a need to use it.
