94 T bird.

Daughter had been driving it so I figured it would be pretty low on gas. I was spot on. Anyway as I was heading to the station I noticed the airbag light was flashing at me. I was like, "what means this"? After I filled up it didn't come back on. I don't have the manual. Does anyone suppose this is a way of telling you you are low on gas? There is no low gas light that I could see and that baby was nearly on fumes.

Maybe.
I'm thinking there's a Ford efficionado here somewhere that might be able to tell you what the problem might be. Call a local Ford dealership perhaps; and hope they don't tell you 'Well, we need you to bring the car in so we can look at it'? The unspoken part being, '.....and charge you thru the nose.'
I've been searching for an answer to your question but can't seem to find one. Airbags don't usually malfunction (ie: deploy); perhaps it is a bad airbag sensor? You might have to take the car to a repair shop.
I'm out of uneducated guesses.

Yeah, I can't seem to find an answer either. It's out now anyway so I'm not going to sweat it too much. I find it odd it doesn't have a low fuel light, bit it could very easily be non-functional.

Does the horn and cruise control work? If not, it means that the clock spring is broken. It's where all the wires make contact from the steering wheel to the steering column.

My friends 97 T-bird had a low gas light next to the gas gage needle.

My 95 Mustang does not have a low gas light.

SO if he has the cruise control on and beeps his horn what happens?

Does he accelerate, or slow down??

Maybe someone mis-wired the airbag warning light with the low fuel light? If you have one of the dis-armable types of airbags, turn it off and see what light comes on.

I'll check.

Who knows. I've never got it so low before. Usually no more than 1/2. No disable switch that I know of.

Maybe I'll just go ram something and see if it works.
