Revelation 16:8 The fourth angel poured out his bowl on the sun, and the sun was allowed to scorch people with fire. 9 They were seared by the intense heat and they cursed the name of God, who had control over these plagues, but they refused to repent and glorify him.
This is from the commentary. The sun, and power was given to him to scorch men with fire: What is normally taken for granted as a blessing — the warmth of the shining sun — is now a curse.
They did not repent and give Him glory: The failure of men to respond with repentance shows that knowledge or experience of judgment will not change man’s sinful condition. Those who are not won by grace will never be won.
“The wishful thinking of some that men would repent if they only knew the power and righteous judgment of God is shattered by frequent mention in this chapter of the hardness of the human heart in the face of the most stringent and evident divine discipline.” (Walvoord)
Yesterday I noticed an article in the Newsweek feed from NASA.The sun has suddenly become much more active, bursting with sunspots and sending plumes of hot plasma out into space.
In the last week alone, sunspot numbers have increased by 10 times, dotting the sun's surface with black pockmarks spewing out several coronal mass ejections every day.
Oh, don't accuse me of going out to find fake news. If your internet is spotty today or if the weather is messed up, it's just the sun. This is only a hint of what must be coming.
I'm out in Apache Junction, AZ. I think we've seen .01" rain since September. The sun is hot. Yesterday it was 74 degrees here in the desert. Before this big cool down, you could get a sunburn in 20 minutes. It got up to 122 degrees here just last summer. You can fry an egg on a rock in the summer here. You can make boiled tea outside in the summer time. The asphalt out here gets so hot, they warn humans and dogs that walking in bare feet or paws will cause blisters. There were people who had to be taken to the ER because they fell and got 3rd degree burns from the road. AND that's not the heat John is telling us about!
John says humans will be scorched with fire from the sun!
We can't begin to imagine what it's like to be scorched by the sun.
I'm not telling you to try this at home.... but I think being scorched by the sun would be like putting your bare hand on a hot stove burner.
Sometimes, when my arthritis is kicking up... I go take a little walk in the summer sun. It's like putting on a warm heated blanket all over my body.
What is coming, according to what I think John is saying, is like falling into a bonfire. That's not very warm and loving.
Jesus still hasn't mounted His steed. His 144,000 troops are ready and waiting. God is still making sure there are no Christians in the mix on earth. He's giving everyone "one last chance". God tried punishing the humans left on earth. They have to be the most stubborn of the human species.
God's taking a blow torch to the earth! Still there are some who would stick their fingers in their ears so they won't hear the Word.
A blow torch!
