A child dies of Cancer.

Tonight a dear friends Daughter Dies of Cancer, Leukemia.
Four years ago Kayla Hanson was diagnosed with Leukemia at age 12.
It was in remission for all most 4 years , then last month it came back to take her precious life away.
Seeing the suffering that child endured during treatments was enough to make any adult cry, but at the same time, make you smile with admiration for her bravery and her consideration for those she loved and cared for.
I say this because she was always concerned with people feeling sorrow because she was sick. So if she seen you feeling sad for her , she would change the subject or make a joke.
I always thought of her as the most unselfish person on the planet.
The beginning of the summer she got her first job and her learners, big goals in life when your 15 going on 16, things in life we take for granted.

I write this in memory of Kayla and ask those to pray for strength for her family to endure life with out her.
I ask you to pray for her family because thats who Kayla would want you to pray for.
She herself I am sure, is safe in the Lords arms.

After reading this I'm sure each and everyone of you will hug your children, thank the Lord they are healthy and give thought to Kayla. :huggy:

Everyone close to her will learn something from this, people don't die for nothing, CHILDREN don't die for nothing.

Goodbye, Kayla :huggy:

And the rest of us should think about this next time we want to complain about our petty problems.

When a child dies..My heart breaks.
It never seems right that someone should die before ever having really lived.
That's why I believe that person just moved on to some place nicer, and that they were meant for greater things.. Our bodies are merely a shell, some are stronger than others.
I have a friend who lost her son to cancer (neuroblastoma) at the age of 4. He was an amazing kid, wise beyond his years after having gone through kemo and knowing that he wouldn't live to see ten.I miss him and admire him for being a greater and stronger person than most 30 year olds, myself included. He wasn't even my child and I'm bawling right now just thinking about it. So you give her folks a big hug and reassure them that even though she's gone from this life, they will be with her again and their lives will go on until then.. I'm really sorry for the whole family.

:yeahthat: I think cancer has affected most of us in one way or another. Be it ourselves, family or friends. When it's someone who should have their whole life ahead of them it is heart wrenching. Stay strong for your friends Gumbo-you seem so compassionate and caring. They are going to need that from you in the months to come. :huggy: (btw on another note-hospice hosts meetings for people like your friends. they helped me deal with the pain immensely when I lost my mom to cancer-have them check into it. they won't be sorry).

Another great organization is Compassionate Friends, not sure if that is the one you are refereeing to, and I agree a support group would be a good thing.

From what you wrote, Kayla was a child that showed love. May she be with Jesus now, and may her family and friends be comforted by Him and thoughts of her.
Matthew 18:2-4

2And He called a child to Himself and set him before them,

3and said, "Truly I say to you, unless you are converted and become like children, you will not enter the kingdom of heaven.

4"Whoever then humbles himself as this child, he is the greatest in the kingdom of heaven.
