A couple of lost cats

So instead of my lost cat finding me - someone else's cats found us, underneath our house. There are two cats that we have caught in a humane cat trap at the entrance of the crawlspace under our house and then have re-released them in our front yard. We are just trying to prevent them from coming back under the house just so they don't damage anything under there. I would bring them in if I could, but I'm renting the house, so I don't want to take the chance of them ruining the house. I don't know if it's just one or both cats but we have heard the screaming cry from one of them like they are fighting something under there. I/we don't know if the two cats are fighting each other or if it's just one against something else under there. In any case, it's scary and I'm worried about those cats.

One of them is black and orange in color. The other cat is black (I think). I'm only going by what my boyfriend has told me since he's the only that has seen them. I live in Piney Point and haven't seen anything anywhere on somd.com about these cats yet. They do not have collars and we have no idea what sex they are. Sorry there is not much of a description - if we catch them again, I'll make sure that my boyfriend gives me a better description next time.

Unaltered male & female perhaps?

Chances of catching them again with a humane trap are slim to none. They become wise to it quick.

You can post an ad on this web site under classifieds - Lost and Found for free. That might help find they're owners.

A possible reason for the fighting would be...It's mating time. Feb means April kittens. Very normal time for mating right now.

I thought about doing that but with not much detail on them, I'm afraid it may not help the owners at all in trying to find them. But being on the other end, I think I will still post up something. Better than nothing! I didn't know that this time of year was mating season for cats - so that would explain the screaming cries I guess.

Oh yeah, if you did get them again and wanted to bring them into the house without causing to much of a mess, you could confine them, one to a bathroom.(if you have multiple bathrooms) or if not, perhaps...
one to a carrier and one to the bathroom.

But don't use the trap as a carrier cause they will hurt themselves on the sharp parts if they are kept in there to long.

My experiences are that it is easy to clean and dissinfect a bathroom rather than a whole house.

Good Luck :yay:

I just posted a classified ad...so we'll see what happens. The last time we caught one was last night and it was the second cat that time. We haven't caught them again. From what my boyfriend was saying to me it almost seemed like they didn't want him even touching them, but I don't know.

Bathrooms sound like a good idea...we'll see what happens I guess. Thanks for the suggestions! :)
