There are better solutions than destruction.

You'd like to think that elected officials would have a little more decorum than that. Understand that what they say and do sets the example. These dems are no better than common thugs.

Reminds me of Korean gatherings of politicals where if they have a gripe, they jump over tables and physically assault someone in a room full of officials and leaders.

Hey that would be awesome to watch. Better tv than the dim convention.

One would think that an attorney, even the worst of them would know better than to break the law in such a manner.
They should be disbarred immediately.
The State Senator should be removed from office.

Sen. Lucas calls for immediate firing of Portsmouth police chief following protest at Confederate monument

PORTSMOUTH, Va. (WAVY) — A Virginia senator is calling for the immediate firing of the Portsmouth police chief following a protest that resulted in a person being hospitalized with serious injuries and the destruction of a Confederate monument.

Sen. Louise Lucas told 10 On Your Side that she believes Portsmouth Police Chief Angela Greene “abdicated her responsibility to maintain peace and failed to uphold the law” during the protests after demonstrators began to vandalize and destroy the monument. Lucas said that Greene should be fired “immediately” by Portsmouth City Manager Dr. Lydia Pettis-Patton.

The protest began peacefully on Tuesday night when demonstrators, including the Portsmouth NAACP, gathered at the monument and covered it with sheets and plastic bags.

The demonstrators called for the removal of the monument, which has been sitting on Court Street in the middle of downtown for 127 years.

Group calls on Portsmouth police chief to resign after local leaders charged; city manager says chief had conflict of interest

The conference from the Martin Luther King, Jr. Leadership Steering Committee started at the Portsmouth Judicial Complex at 5:30 p.m. on Wednesday. The news conference also aimed to honor the late Congressman John Lewis, with his famous quote, “making good trouble.”

During the conference, the group called for Greene to immediately resign from her position or be fired. Rev. Dr. Milton Blount said there are many unanswered questions about the warrants issued by Portsmouth Police on Monday, Aug. 17.

The group is also calling on Virginia State Police to conduct an investigation into the charges against the 14 people. State police already completed their investigation into the injury of Chris Green, the man severely injured when one of the four Confederate soldier statues was pulled down on top of him. On Monday, Greene said requests were also made for state and federal assistance to conduct independent investigation into the entire circumstances.

“Understandably, these requests fell outside the scope of investigation for those law enforcement entities,” Greene said.

Lucas’ daughter, Vice Mayor Lisa Lucas Burke, spoke during the press conference Wednesday saying she wanted answers for the decisions made by Portsmouth Police.

Portsmouth Confederate statue turmoil: How city leaders became pitted against police

“When a discussion with the Commonwealth’s attorney regarding a special grand jury and special prosecutor did not yield any action, it was the duty of the Portsmouth Police Department to begin a thorough and comprehensive investigation into this incident,” said Greene during a press conference Monday announcing the arrests.

Commonwealth Attorney Stephanie Morales told News 3 she never received the complete investigative report from police to determine if charges were appropriate.

In an email to council members Wednesday, City Manager Dr. L. Pettis Patton writes that Chief Greene reported a conflict of interest as it related to any investigation of the incidents at the Confederate monument.

Patton went on to write she was unaware arrest warrants were being issues until August 17 and is was “surprised and troubled” by the Chief’s investigation.

In an email Thursday evening, Chief Greene responds to the accusation she should not have been involved in an investigation because of a known conflict of interest, "During our investigation, it was determined that although felonious acts were committed by several individuals, no conflicts of interest for this department were revealed."

Black Virginia Police Chief Fired For Charging Prominent BLM Vandals And Public Officials

Back on June 10th in Portsmouth, Virginia, a large group of protesters decided to tear down and destroy a Confederate monument located in that city. An investigation was launched, led by Portsmouth Police Chief Angela Greene. After collecting video from the event and conducting interviews for two months, Greene announced in August that charges were being filed against 19 people who had been involved in the destruction. Police were seeking 13 more people who had yet to be identified. In the process, one of the protesters was severely injured when the statue was pulled down on top of them by his accomplices. That was also being investigated separately.

You might think that would be pretty much the end of the story, but it wasn’t. Among those arrested was State Sen. Louise Lucas, several leaders of the local Black Lives Matter movement, officials from the NAACP, and a member of the local school board. Since several crimes had obviously been committed, you might think that Chief Greene (who is Black, by the way) would be lauded for holding all citizens, regardless of their status accountable. You would be wrong, however. Howls of protest emerged not only from the community but from elected officials. Yesterday the situation came to a head and Chief Greene was unceremoniously fired. Have the charges been dropped also? I suppose we can presume they have.

I have empathy for Chief Greene, she was doing her job and obviously doing it well.
But this is politics. Black politics. A minority that does her job and does it well hasn't a chance against blacks with their black preference.
When you strike the king you must kill him.

So being black is the only qualification necessary? SMFH

Man Hit by Toppled Confederate Statue Last Year Suffering From Traumatic Brain Injury

Chris-Green-Portsmouth-VA.jpg

Last spring when the radical left was toppling historic statues around the country, a man named Chris Green was severely injured when a falling statue landed on his head in Virginia.

Green suffered a coma and now has had to relearn to walk and eat. He lost sight in one eye, hearing in one ear, and saddest of all, can no longer remember the childhood of his own kids.

No one has been held accountable for this.

Ah the conflict .... Idiots get what they deserve ... but the family stuck caring for this man's stupidity
