Gonna give a thumbs' up to James from A&E. He was here 2 weeks ago and diagnosed what was wrong with the Maytag washer we bought in September 1983. He found OEM parts are still available, had them shipped to the house. When we had the parts, A&E rescheduled him, which was today. I do not think he took more than 20 minutes to get the old parts off, new parts on and run the washer through 2 cycles...no more leak. AHS got this one right via the website tools.
I fixed the matching dryer about 11 years ago, heater core burnt out, replaced the drive band for the drum, too. We paid $1300 for the pair back then. $60 in parts and 90 minutes of my time, good as new.
A big, Meh, to AHS home warranty's "agents." Was supposed to have an HVAC guy to the house today. AHS double booked me with a work order for 1 zone, and a second for both zones. Talked to their phone person last Thursday, asked to have the single cancelled/refunded, and the dual zone was cancelled.
The tech from H&J was very apologetic, but under their rules of engagement, could not go ahead. I think that is now straightened out with a new dual zone work order. Eugene will be back tomorrow morning. I'll give him a thumbs' up, too.
