. . . to check your tires before you head out.

Last time I rode was about 3 days ago. Went out today to pre-start the bike so I could enjoy a gorgeous sunny day here in SOMD, and noticed a significant drop in pressure in my rear Pirelli MT66. Rolled the bike back and forth, ran my hands over the tread, and found what turned out to be a friggin' allen wrench deep in the tread.

After I calmed down and stopped cussin', I plugged the tire, went inside and ordered another tire from RonAyers.com, and am seriously thinking about treating myself to a big-ass burger and a few cold brews ('cause right now, I'm BUMMIN' BIG-TIME).

I'll be riding the plug to the shop after my new tire arrives in a few days, but till then, it looks like I'm grounded.

Stay safe and healthy out there!

Do a price comparison with SWMOTOTIRES.com.. see how it comes out.

I usually ride to Annapolis to AMS they usually come out about the same as the online suppliers, and they charge less then local shops for mounting and balancing. AND they usually get the tires in next day.

Now if I can only talk BG into the NO-MAR tire changer..

I was just wondering if you have to rotate the tires on motorcycles, too?
No just the air..

You need to refresh the air every three months or so. Specialty shops have the air circulation gear to replace the old air with new without having to tear the tires apart to do it.

I do that with my SUV too. I let the winter air out so hubby can put summer air in.

You can use Nitrogen instead.. it doesn't degrade like air does over time..

SURPRISE!!

What kind of tire are you looking at getting??

Your type of bike/ riding you might want to look at Metzler 880's.. or Avon Distanzias..

They last a LOT longer then other tires.. up to 15,000 miles by some accounts.

I had Metzler M1's on my bike, but they were only lasting about 4500 miles, now I run Metzler Z6's, get almost twice that.

better gas mileage (your truck would be lighter) but worse performance (not as much grip on the road)

Oh, and don't forget to add about $45 to that price for a local shop to mount and balance the tire if you bring the tire and wheel off of the bike to them.

Add >$100 if you want them to take the tire off of the bike and replace it.
