A Labor of Love For Steelers Fans

At our big Black & Gold luncheon Friday, we scroundged up a record player so that I could play my original 1970's Pittsburgh Steelers Fight Song 45RPM that was recorded in loveable polka style by Jimmy Pol. It got our blood going, especially those of us who remember growing up to that song, but it's a bit dated. So, I've posted the original words below and I would like to hear some alternate lyrics for today's Super Steelers. :yay:

(sung to The Pennsylvania Polka)

We’re from the town with the great football team,
We cheer the Pittsburgh Steelers.
Winning’s a habit not only a dream,
Go out and get them Steelers!
Guerella’s Gorillas are here for the show,
And so is Franco’s Army.
It’s been forty years in coming,
Just hear that Steeler machinery humming.

Defense, Defense,
Make them scramble, intercept that ball.
Defense, Defense,
Blitz them, drive them, up against the wall.
Franco, Franco,
It looks at last we’ve got a running game.
He’s rookie of the year, we’re so glad he’s playing here.
Now join with me and sing our Steelers cheer.

We’re from the town with the great football team,
We cheer the Pittsburgh Steelers.
Winning’s a habit not only a dream,
Go out and get them Steelers!
Guerella’s Gorillas are here for the show,
And so is Frenchie’s Legions.
It’s been forty years in coming,
Just hear that Steeler machinery humming.

Defense, Defense,
Make them scramble, intercept that ball.
Defense, Defense,
Mean Joe Green will drive them up the wall.
Franco, Franco,
Can you believe we’ve got a running game.
His thousand yards were great,
He’s so hard to overrate.
Good things will come to those that sit and wait.
