A lesson on Situational Awareness.

LightRoasted

If I may ...
If I may ...

Though this did not happen locally, everyone should always practice Situational Awareness. Know your surroundings, pickup on suspicious behaviors. If you own a business, you do not need a Concealed Carry Permit to have a firearm on your business premises, and may also allow your, (best to get them trained, better yet if a vet), employees to have one as well.

What are the 3 stages of situational awareness?
  • Information gathering – know the typical sources of information available.
  • Understanding information – be able to interpret the information gathered.
  • Anticipation – be able to anticipate how an incident will develop and change.

Great post but I would add that if you are going to be armed and/or arm your employees make sure they have firearms safety training and know the law. Sadly, the perp you or they may shoot has more rights in court than you do.
One thing every personal protection instructor I've had said; "Every bullet discharged in a defense situation has a lawyer attached to it."
