My son came home yesterday and told me that this year's Christmas (yes... it is still Christmas down here) vacation had been extended 10 days since the schools hadn't used any of the hurricane days they had budgeted into the school schedule. I thought it was nice to see the schools do that instead of what the Maryland schools did when they used no snow days one year after scheduling for ten, and made the kids still come to school for those two extra weeks in the summer and had them sitting around doing menial crap.
