57, of Vero Beach, FL, passed away Wednesday, March 14, 2012 in Hopewell Twp. Born Sept. 27, 1954 in Washington, PA. He was a son of the late Grover and Arvella (Jusko) Holmes. Rod attended Washington High School and served in the U.S. Marine Corps. from 1972-1976. He graduated with honors in Welding from the Washington Technical Institute in Washington, PA, and was employed at Mayview State Hospital in Bridgeville for 25 years as a psychiatric aide. Following his retirement, he and his wife move to Vero Beach, Florida. Rod served as Vice President of AFSME Local #2059 and currently served as Vice President of the board of Lakewood Village in Vero Beach. He is survived by his loving wife, Debra (Burke) Calvert, whom he married Nov. 19, 1977; a brother, Robert Calvert, Jr.; his mother-in-law, Nancy (Nale) Burke-Connors; a brother-in-law and sister-in-law, Jim and Debbie Burke; nieces and nephews, Amy Calvert, Robert Calvert III, Beth Ann (Freddie) Hull, Jimmy Burke (also his godson) and his wife Paula; two great-nieces, Bryanna Goodwin, Kaelyn Rose Hull. Family and friends are welcome to attend a memorial service Saturday, March 24, at 11 a.m. at Ohio United Presbyterian Church, 1236 Longvue Ave, Aliquippa, PA 15001, with Rev. Don Hurray and Rev. Eric Powell officiating. Arrangements are being handled by TATALOVICH FUNERAL HOME AND CREMATION SERVICES, INC., 2205 McMinn St., Aliquippa PA 15001.
