A message DIRECTLY from God!

Casting Crowns won a Grammy and Dove award this past year. They sold well over 130,000 copies of this CD the first week it went up for sale. I believe they are over 3 million now. They have the #1 CD on the Christian charts right now for the 104th week (if not longer). This group is good enough to hit on any chart, country, pop, yet they believe enough in their message to sing Christian music and you and I both know secular music doesn’t sell as well as all other categories of music. But, music reaches people, and Casting Crowns is reaching MANY people. I happen to think Casting Crowns is a blessing in a world that is in the end times when we see so much disgrace in the world around us.

Kain started this thread with a negative comment saying final warning; listen up, blah blah blah…. And frankly, that puts people’s asses on their backs thinking, who the hell does she think she is? She is saying everyone else’s way is wrong and no, it isn’t. Just this is another way to reach people and isn’t that what it really is all about? Only Casting Crowns has 3-4 minutes to convey that message. When I was 9 years old, my great grandmother sat me down and said, Jesus died for all of our sins so that we may have ever lasting life. I had been extremely ill prior to that and just knew I wasn't ever alone, but after that, there were times in my life I doubted and I found those were the times I was slowed down and really messed up.

We are all told to have faith like a child but as we get older, we do tend to question, pick apart, strap ourself to little words here and there that do slow us down, when all we need to know is that it is Jesus.

Maybe, Santa will slip you this CD and maybe even Lifesong in your stocking. This isn't one of my favorite songs, but all their CD's are really incredible.

You know God?

Tom,

This isn't the time or place for your games. Seriously stop!

Come they told me, pa rum pum pum pum
A new born King to see, pa rum pum pum pum
Our finest gifts we bring, pa rum pum pum pum
To lay before the King, pa rum pum pum pum,
rum pum pum pum, rum pum pum pum,

So to honor Him, pa rum pum pum pum,
When we come.

Little Baby, pa rum pum pum pum
I am a poor boy too, pa rum pum pum pum
I have no gift to bring, pa rum pum pum pum
That's fit to give the King, pa rum pum pum pum,
rum pum pum pum, rum pum pum pum,

Shall I play for you, pa rum pum pum pum,
On my drum?

Mary nodded, pa rum pum pum pum
The ox and lamb kept time, pa rum pum pum pum
I played my drum for Him, pa rum pum pum pum
I played my best for Him, pa rum pum pum pum,
rum pum pum pum, rum pum pum pum,

Then He smiled at me, pa rum pum pum pum
Me and my drum.

So your church interprets the New Testament different than the Mormons..
...

Most churches think that Mormonism is a cult since they rely on the the teachings of Joseph Smith, Jr. as authoritative instead of or in addition to the Bible.

You, being a former (current?) Mormon, have your perspective colored differently than most of the Christian world.

The witness to the Gospel of Jesus, the Christ, through music has been going on through history. Even Bob Dylan has a couple of Christian theme albums. I believe he eventually went back to his Jewish roots. I like For Him, Phil Keaggy, Scott Wesley Brown and a bunch of other Christian musicians. Heck, at one time, Silent Night was a new song.

Christians are called to proclaim the Gospel, to stand up for Jesus. If a person denies Jesus, then Jesus will deny them.
Matthew 10:32-34

32"Therefore everyone who confesses Me before men, I will also confess him before My Father who is in heaven.

33"But whoever denies Me before men, I will also deny him before My Father who is in heaven.

34"Do not think that I came to bring peace on the earth; I did not come to bring peace, but a sword.
Verse 34 is often overlooked. Proclaiming Jesus has been the source of hatred of Christians for two millennia. Kain wants me to quit following the Great Commission; I say she is going to be disappointed.

All Christians need to be about the work of the Father. Musicians in their way. Actors in theirs. Me in mine.

I think ALL religions are cults.. I just don't think Mormonism is any better or worse than the rest.

ANd I would never base a vote on someone's religion... but the man.
