Interesting route...might have to give it a try next time. Especially since you're starting North of Buffalo and I'm starting South. Distance was 510 miles door to door from my parents house in Orchard Park to mine in Great Mills. We usually take the 90 to Erie and then head South on 79, never thought about using the 219. Thanks for the tip!

Glad to help. I ran that route west on 90, south on 79, east on 76 for a lot of years. A nephew gave me the original info on the 219...99...70 route and I at first dismissed it as "must be a lot of mountains and small towns" along that way. I finally gave it a try about 5 years ago and it was much better and faster that the turnpike and that 79/90 combo. Try it, I think you'll be pleasantly surprised.

Well the best time I did from Reston VA to Rochester NY was 6.5hrs with both stops were over 30min each. :) and one to fill up the gas tank.
