A question: what is the best way to send support to a candidate without getting on their "sucker" list.

I know some people send a check some use a credit card and probably some even send cash.
But any donation you send with you name attached gets you put on a list and they spend your money sending you mail to ask for more.

Can you send them a gift card with no return address.

Donations >$200 are required by law to be reported to the FEC and include details like name, address, employment, etc. These are all public info and searchable in a database maintained by the FEC.

While I don’t believe there is a current requirement to collect those data for donations <$200, if you do it online or write a check, you’ll often find those donations recorded in the same database.

Best bet is to go to an event and slip your candidate a $50 spot. Don’t think those need to be reported at all, but probably limits as to how much one can give and candidates can receive.

Or, don’t give a dime to any of the dirtbags — and they are ALL dirtbags of the highest order.

I don't mind the campaigns having my address - I can easily throw the crap in the trash as it comes in. But I surely don't care for them having my phone number or email because those calls and emails can get ridiculous. Made the mistake once of giving out my home phone number - still get calls from that campaign up to 9pm at least once a week - UGH!

It's pretty easy to redirect it to Junk. It's not like some emails which zombie like manage to keep rising from the dead and into your Inbox.

A few years back, I DID donate to a few campaigns around the country, mostly House campaigns. I've since changed my mind on that - I don't think you should be able to donate to someone you can't vote for. I got tons of email after that, asking for donations. Mostly dried up by now.

I don't think I'll be donating again, to anyone. At least, not until I retire and move to a state where one party doesn't always have every office, and therefore - my donation is meaningless, for either party.

I told a guy on the phone I was going to vote for the other guy cause they annoyed me far too much with calls. I was off their list after that.

PS also hated my old division head so I gave out his phone number for everything.
You the guy that put that "for a good time call 301.342.XXXX" number in the ABC Liquor Store Bar's Bathroom?

Snail mail a money order, don't place your name on it and make up a return address for the envelope.

I can't think of a reason why I - a middle income person - would send money to millionaires so they can make more millions while giving my money away to illegal aliens and foreign dictators.

I don't agree with you on many things, but on this one you are spot on. Give your money to a charity you believe in. Don't spend it on any of these A-holes no matter what party. I would rather burn my money then give it to them!

Yes, that's why I said home number.

My dad worked with a guy everyone hated, one of his coworkers listed a rototiller for sale in the paper with his number. Dad said he came in bitching all the time about people calling about a rototiller.
If you really hate a co-worker subscribe their work e-mail to a few unsavory websites (who will not only spam them NSFW materials but also share their e-mail to infinite mailing lists). They WILL need to change their e-mail. Do it 3-4 times and get them a first.middle.last.5 e-mail address and then they will miss half their work e-mails as the defunct 1-4 e-mails continue to be listed forever.
