To the Editor:
This holiday season, the Southern Maryland Chapter of the American Red Cross extends profound gratitude for the incredible support of the greatest force for compassionate action on earth-the residents of Southern Maryland. Because of your generosity, the Southern Maryland Red Cross has been able to give critical support to those affected by the hurricanes, while still providing help and hope to your neighbors in need here in Southern Maryland.
As the Volunteer Chairman of your local Red Cross Chapter, I'm extraordinarily grateful to be associated with an organization that makes a difference in our community every day. The residents of St Mary's , Calvert, and Charles counties who support the Red Cross through volunteer time, money or blood, share in the special kinship of neighbors helping neighbors, whether they are around the block or across the globe. It is only through your incredible generosity of spirit that the Southern Maryland Red Cross stands ready, 24 hours a day, 365 days a year.
Hurricanes are just part of the story. The Southern Maryland Red Cross is made up of friends and neighbors, responding to hundreds of community disasters including house and apartment fires, collecting lifesaving blood, or helping members of the military stay connected. The Southern Maryland Red Cross also helps reconnect families separated by crisis and conflict around the world.
The Southern Maryland Red Cross offers all of these services free of charge - but only thanks to the generous support of people like you. While hurricanes capture the headlines, it is more important than ever before to support the Southern Maryland Chapter, so that no one in our community must ever face a disaster alone.
During this holiday season we want to thank all that made Red Cross services available and that you are on our "wish list" for continued donations of Time, Blood, and Financial Support.
Thank you!
