Abandonded Cars

I have had a car parked out side of my house since September. My cousin was staying at my house bought a P.O.S. and left it there. He has since left and moved to Texas. He has abandonded the car. I have no Title or keys. Who can take this away. I've contacted the Sheriff they said no they couldn't do anything, I've contacted Calvert Town Apartments, since he wasn't their tenant they can't do anything either. How can there be an abandonded car just sitting there? Does anyone know who will tow this thing away for free? I'm not paying for it because it is not mine to pay for. HELP!! Someone take it burn it or do something with it.

Where? Calvert co or St Marys?

To make long story shortest as possible, I've called the Calvert county sherrif dept so many times to come and get rid of the abandoned dumptruck and other junk stuff. I kept calling and bug them until they finally came and got rid of it. I think the final straw was when I mentioned something about how the snowplow truck could hit the old white dumptruck or couldn't plow at all when winter comes around.

What kind of car is it? Can you use Ebay to part it out? You'd be surprised at what people will buy.

Check Pennysaver too. There's ads in there for folks that willl tow junk cars for free.

If you are in Calvert why don't you contact planning and zoning. Tell them it is a violation because it is dripping oil or something....

Probably because the car is in his yard from when his cousin lived there, he doesn't want to report himself to Planning and Zoning?

Didn't think wrecking yard would touch it if you didn't have a title for it. Does it have tags? Ponytail did have a good idea about selling the parts off of it. What is it?

Why don't you get what you need from your cousin?

Because he is 19 and a complete a** that doesn't care or he would have taken care of it before he left for Texas.

Contact the MVA. They will tell you what you need to do with an abandoned vehicle. When you get the paperwork straight you can donate, or even sell it to who-ever comes and tows it away. Find out the blue book value, it might be worth more than $50.00 in cash for what you may be able to write off in taxes for a donation. Call around though, some tow companies may not give you a dime, while others will.

Why don;t you just light it on fire?

Because you can't burn stuff in your own yard. Don't you remember the genius in Mechanicsville who burned his own house down because he was going to build a new one and didn't want to pay someone to demolish it for him? But he forgot to let the fire department know that's what he was doing? Happened back in January I believe... :ohwell:
