i have a friend who would put a saddle on her young ones while in the stall, and tie the rein to one stirrup at a time for a few hours a night. The stirrup would be light enough pressure to make them give, and when they bent around gave an immediate release on its own. I though that was pretty creative. Hers were always soft and rounded.

Hey, maybe they can do some horsie lipo! I'd imagine a good poll break is a heck of a lot harder to achieve on the horse you are working with being he was a stud so long! But I really like how you bring it on slow, so many people want to just crank on them and that can cause some bad reactions. The way you do it is less resistance and a learning process!
