Above-average hurricane season predicted for 2008

It's an effective strategy - sooner or later, there's gonna be an above average season. It's just simple math.

Except they aren't even getting a Meatloaf ratio "two out of three ain't bad"

If this one works it will be one of the last three.

I think the forecasters have stock in the store supply chain. They predict bad weather, sales of TP and milk go thru the roof whether the weather is weathering or not.

People have short memories. It'll be "see! see! Al Gore was RIGHT!".

(No one commenting that the earth has actually been COOLING for ten years).

I think its because we are getting so many more cool people. Sawyer on Lost? Way cool. The guy always rocking back and forth in the metro to his IPod? Not cool but far outweighed in uncool by the cool Sawyer.

David Hasselfhoff being filmed in a drunken food binge by his daughter?

So cool.

Therefore, there is so much new cool and you factor that with how much suckage we have and its bound to hold all that cool in.

As someone who understands statistics....

...you can see that the average number/power of hurricanes continues to decline as the earth cools. Eventually there will be one year in which the number/power equals what it was in 2005 or earlier. THEN the Algore bunch can say "See? see? We are right!" :yahoo: It all depends on what is is.

Come on....they're just covering their butts. Even if the research dictates that there won't be squat this season, they're still going to give warning....you know how people are. We'll get one cat-5 hurricane go tear up/maim/kill a coastline somewhere and people will want some meteorologists head for it.
People are stupid like that.... we've been having hurricanes for how long? Its just one more thing people are finding they can sue someone over....

That's what its about.
