AC Unit Replacement

Club'nBabySeals

Where are my pants?
My AC/Heat Pump died (of course, during the biggest heatwave of the summer)...

What sort of price range am I looking at for replacing the entire unit?

My brother put mine in for around 3K...not sure what kind of family discount I got though. He works for Hancock Refrigeration

:yeahthat: Parents just put one in their house they are selling and it was around 4k. Call Tri County. They had the best prices when I replaced my furnace a few years back. Good Luck! :howdy:

I am so very blessed
We just had to replace our entire system at the beginning of the summer. $7,800 with a $1,000 rebate. :shocking:

My son in law is a HVac mechanic with a masters license and he works on the base for IAP but he also has his own business. His business is called Ice Man and Son and he will get you a great deal on a new system. His home number is 301-737-4636 and his cell is 240-298-9060. Give him a call as you have nothing to loose and he may even be able to get you a complete system (new not used) for a lot less then 5,000.

Oh yeah, I forgot to say he is Lexington Park.
to the other one that just spent almost 8,000.00 I'm sorry I know Jimmy could have gotten you a better price and deal.

Everyone, Jimmy replaces and repairs AC systems and furances and commercial refreigration equipment.

Have to remember this when my heat pump finally decides to blow up.

ASE Advanced Service Experts put ours in for $4,500.00
Works great and has saved us a ton of money already on energy costs.
They use Amana/Goodman products.

Ice man and Son

Glad I could help, also he does general routine maintenace on both furnances and Ac units. He is a lot more reasonable then others here in the county.
We rent the place we live and I have never had my landlord clean or eben start up my heating system. Jimmy has always done it.

Give him a call he will look at your current system and let you know if it can be reapired or if you need a replacement. He is not able to do financing, but then again he will try the best to work with you.

Since most of the older systems in St. Marys are no longer made, the new units are more effieceint and he will ensure you get the right unit for youe needs and will give you a written break down for all parts and service, to let you know what work has been done.

if you will
We had a new system put in our house last summer. For $10K, here is what we got:
- Air handler: Disassembly/removal of old unit in the attic (too big to fit through the hole that goes to attic)
- AprilAire air cleaner
- Removal/replacment of all attic ductwork (they were really old), including addition of three new ducts.
- Outside unit: New Trane XL14i
(I forget the system capacity, 2.5 ton?)

I think without the ductwork, it would have been about $5000.

Edit: Tri-County Aire

Had it done. Even after licking the $5500 wound, I'm glad...my house is happily cool once more.

We used Boothe's Heating & Air. They did an awesome (and very quick) job...Removed all our old stuff and installed a brand new American Standard system in and out. Great service, I highly recommend the company.
