Accident, Bay Forrest Rd

Figured this might be worth mentioning. I know many people who buy scanners these days let Radio Shack program them up for them. Usually Radio Shack does nothing more then program 2-3 local trunked systems into the scanners. Those usually cover the largest majority of the comms but they tend to leave out a couple of interesting frequencies.

There are frequencies the Medics in the backs of ambulances as well as the Medics in the helos will use to work with the Hospitals. On these frequencies patient status, information and such will be passed that you will not hear on the normal county Fire/EMS frequencies.

This is a statewide network of radios so you will not only hear the medics in the mobiles but you will also hear the Nurses/Doctors at the hospitals talking with them. For example for this incident being discussed in this thread we were listening to the Medics in the Helos talking with Suburban Hosp as well as PG Shock Trauma.

So for anyone owning a scanner what follows are a few links that describe the system, it's use, as well as the frequencies involved. Note if you choose to program these into your scanner make sure you use the PL tones listed for Region 5 or you will hear just about every call in the State of MD.

I can do that I guess. Not quite sure where the best place to put it is. I have my own Scanner fourm but tend not to put allot in there as allot of folks would not know where to look for it.

I think I'll shoot off a post to the admins and ask them to consider putting up a separate forum in Hobbies for scanners. That would make it much easier to keep things like this a bit better organized. Or maybe they could put a little blurb on the scanner page linking to my forum.

I was just reading that and ready to post the link. I don't think Debbie has her facts straight, nor did the poster that said a 43 year old female was deceased.
Great lesson learned for all we somd posters: Unless you're ACTUALLY involved and KNOW the FACTS, shaddup!

Silly lady, Of course Debbie aka Nancy Drew knows whats going on. They were great friend's of Christinia and Eddie. She even mentioned that they saw them at 3:30 that very afternoon and they were going to town to get dinner or something. Although today she has indicated that her husband who is apparently a pillar of their community gave them all a stern talking to about the perils of drinking and driving. Why would he have done that if they didn't know they where out boozing and cruising?

So now less than 48 hours after this tragedy, Nancy Drew felt the MORBID need to not only drive up to Willy's and take picture's of this for all of us to see. She has also indicated that she spoke with Willy himself and has viewed the odometer. Why anyone would feel the need to crawl around in that vehicle is beyond me. This strikes me as some very odd behavior.

This is all just really really sad and twisted.

On a side not if that truck had dealer tags on it, then someone's insurance will be liable. Unless of course the dealer tag was hot.

If in fact Eddie was driving, it is very sad indeed. No they do not have any children and the other guy is his cousin, I forget his name. One of the others flown away is also a cousin and the othr just one of their freinds. Christina and Eddie are both 22 and a year younger than my daughter Stephanie.This morning I still can not believe wha has happened since we spoke with Eddie around 3:30 yesterday in front of his trailer and there was no indication that he had been drinking but then that was several hours before the accident.

I just worry about Christna's sister Norma and what she has to take care of. She lived with them amd is only 19. She was working and the police came down and picked her up last night.

The truck struck several trees before coming to a rest in the roadway.
A language barrier made communication on the scene difficult for the medics. They were unsure if the people thrown from the vehicle were in the bed of the truck or in a rear seat.
Victims Louis Felipe Moya Martinez, 34 of Waldorf, and Christina Garcia Chavez, 22 of Lexington Park, were pronounced dead at the scene.
According to the St. Mary's County Sheriff's Office, two other passengers, Zaydia Garcia Chavez, 18 of Waldorf, and Jose Esuin Leon Guerra, 28 of Waldorf, were flown to Prince George's Shock Trauma and are listed in stable condition.
Ibanez is currently in the custody of the St. Mary's County Sheriff's Office. He was flown from the scene to Prince George's Trauma Center for observation of minor injuries."

You know I am sure a few of you have been out to a bar and had a drink or to or even more and drove home. It's a sad thing when someone dies and even worse by a drunken driver. Christina was a nice girl and was one of my Avon girls .Eddie will have to live with the fact he killed his Girlfriend and another and left more in the hospital. Whether he is illegal or not is not the issue here as much as he got behind the wheel of a car drunk.If we want to start pointing fingers of those who should be here in the US remember we all migrated here.The Indians were here first.While I don't agree with illegal imigrants being here I do believe if your going to stay get your papers in order. Let's leave this as it is a tragedy in it's own that someone lost their child. Think of you would fel if it would have been you daughter,sister or mother. What if someone who knew these people hadn't heard about the accident yet? Or how about the fact she posted that people died that really didn't? Imagine if you had read on here that your loved one was dead?

You don't run out and take pictures of the vehicle and post them on the interenet just hours after your friend died in that vehicle.

If Debbie is your mother I certainly hope that she re-evaluates the posts she put up in regards to this accident. It was her post and views of the incident at hand that led myself and clearly many others to respond in the way we did. If this were truly my friend I would not have AMULANCE CHASED and posted such misinformed synopsis' of the this tragedy.

Taking pictures at the tow lot, peering inside the wreckage and posting said pictures online and driving to the accident scene numerous times is just odd.

Sorry you all lost people you care about. Should your family ever find themselves in a situation like this again, I would certainly hope better judgement would be used.
