Accident on 231 yesterday - update

Unfortunately, the 39 year old woman that was killed was a co-workers neice. Very very sad. The entire family was very close.
Please say prayers for this family, I know if any of the family members are anything like my co-worker, they are wonderful, giving people.

Any death is tragic, but this was horrific. I hope she didn't suffer much. My prayers go out to the family.

I believe she was 36-years old and used to be or still was a teacher at Patuxent High School. When I was there she was a Volleyball couch.

My thoughts and prayers are with the family. What a tragic end to a life.

Word on the street she was also a coach at Patuxent H.S. Any truth?

I heard that she was going to be charged with failure to slow down.. She should be charged with more.. The family may fight that.

I can't imagine living with that guilt.. I wonder if they will try to get her on invol. manslaughter or what. .

Well, accidents happen. This one was tragic for sure. It just takes a split second of looking away and something can happen...even a sneeze. Any number of us have had an instance where we've thought..dang that was close. I'm sure the woman feels horrible.

:yeahthat: Accidents like this happen every day. Unfortunately, the tiiming of this one was terrible. She wasn't drunk or stoned, and wasn't otherwise acting recklessly. She deserves to be found at fault, but let's save things like manslaughtr for those who deserve it.

She could still face a substantial civil suit in this. I can see her liability coverage being max'ed out very quickly. She would be responsible for anything over her coverage level.

And in the end, the poor soul is still dead. I'll never understand the big settlements when someone dies as a result of an accident or something similar.

For me it depends on if the at fault driver was negligent. Sure it won't bring the families loved one back but the negligent driver needs to be held accountable.
