I try to avoid that area. Too many people in Wildewood will pull right out in front of you. I guess they think they have the right of way.

It wouldn't be so bad, if they just used that BIG pedal on the right, once they pull out in front of you. knowwha'msayin?

I came up right after it happened. Looks like a dump truck and several cars were involved. Power lines or some kind of lines hanging across the street. I turned around and found another route to the DMV. (what a zoo that place was!)

Somebody comin' out of Wildewood pulled out in front of somebody haulin' a** on St. Andrew's I'll bet.

If people would stick to the speed limit there would be safe gaps for other folks to pull into traffic. Someone haulin' azz is often not in view at the time someone commits to what appears to be a gap.

Why do you think folks doing the speed limit leads to proper spacing in traffic?
Could be that someone was speeding so fast that whomever was entering the roadway was expecting the person on Rt 4 to be going the limit there which is what, 45? Now, its possible someone was going say 65-75, but midafternoon, right there? Not very likely.

More likely than speeding, in my opinion, is that one or the other person was not in the game, for some reason. Kids, cell phone, passing sparrow, who knows. But say its much more likely inattention rather than speed, that's the way I bet.

NO! It's dumb ass people that pull out of all the side roads along that road! I travel it every day in both directions! Wildewood, St. Andrews Estates, Indian Bridge, Fairgrounds, the Transfer Station road (old St Andrews) and even Walden, the people pulling out think everyone should be able to stop for them! Or that they can slow down enough before running in the back of them. I drive the speed limit!

Yep, and I think its a good thing. Since we wont train drivers, we have to design roads for idiots who need to be told. Sad, but true.

I was right behind the truck when it happened. Couldn't believe my eyes. Slammed on my brakes.

It was this white pickup who very suddenly swerved off the road and smashed right through a telephone pole like it was a bundle of toothpicks. Since I was right behind him, I was this sure I was going to be in an accident too, but I lucked out.

Somehow his truck kept going until he finally pulled off the road further down. He totally crushed the passenger side of his truck.

Anyway, the lines were coming down and I knew I didn't want to be there all day, so I drove underneath the hanging cables hoping not to get hit or tangled.

The guy swerved SO suddenly, I can only guess he must have either reached for something on the passenger side or was on the cell phone.
