Noticed on the road, and in the store. Lots of zombie-like people just lost in a daze, completely unaware of their surroundings.

Hmm.. Pink Floyd flashback....

I do the grocery shopping on Thursday morning, it's usually about the same people every week. The Thursday before the storm the store was almost as busy as it is for Thanksgiving and there was a whole new crowd. I swear to God 75% of them had never been in a grocery store before.

Most folks are now fighting some type of issue with congestion but usually without a fever. Typical head cold type of thing but seems to linger longer than usual. Some folks think it is a mutated Covid strain. Who knows. I love it when you go to an Urgent Care or Dr. They automatically assume you have Covid. They love testing people with a Covid Swab designed for a previous strain of years ago. Once in a blue moon it comes up positive since previous strains are still making their rounds through people as well. I lost count of all of the strains that are out there now. And really don't care. I think most people are tired of hearing that everything has to be Covid. I sure am.
Urgent Care, last year with symptoms of an ear infection. Doc looked at my ear, throat, body temperature, etc. No infection in ear canal, surmised it was the flu or rona. Testing was not done (I was given the option), and she said it wouldn't make me feel any better and it took 30+ minutes for the results. Apparently, I looked as miserable as I felt. Sent me on my way and I appreciate her not wasting my time. Win-win.

Fatal accident at the intersection of Willow and five maybe 2 hours ago. Wife and I were detoured back North on five coming south from Great Mills. I just came up five and took a right detour onto willows and they were putting one of the vehicles on a flatbed

My son and his caseworker came upon that accident shortly after nine. According to him, it was a white county type pickup towing a trailer headed north on 5. The car involved was a smaller sedan car that he said looked like it either ran the stop sign or misjudged the speed of the pickup. Anyway, true or not, the pickup/trailer was in the woods and the white sedan was on the side of the road pretty smashed up. That I saw myself as I was going out to breakfast w/BF. The front was pretty smashed up and it looked like something hit the windshield, huge gap on drivers side, much smaller hole on the other side with cracks radiating out. Three hours later, I saw the same car on the back of a tow pulling out of Steve's on 235.

That's what I think happened. Either the white ran the stop, or possibly they went to the right of someone waiting to turn north and couldn't see the pickup coming.

Updated with article. So that truck is in the woods here. Which tells me they at least did some swerving to avoid.

The white car was pretty messed when we saw it, we went through the area about 30 minutes after the accident.

I hate that area; can't begin to count how many times I'm on 5, going either direction and cars at the stop sign waiting like should I pull out? Oh now that I've thought about it for 20 plus seconds, yes what a fabulous idea, now that she's practically on top of me, let me pull out. That has got to be their train of thought. I'd rather just take the scenic route 235 to Park Hall Road.

Soooo... the flight medics responded by ground. Isn't there county EMS and Advances Life Support for that?

Hard to enter when people are doing 50 mph.

Otherwise known as the speed limit through there. The whole road is 50, with some areas set to 40 or 30 like St Mary's College, Callaway. I've lived down here for almost 15 years, the first five of which I was daily commuting to the Millison Plaza area. I've never had a problem getting out of Willows. The gas pedal is your friend.

Pulling out of Hermanville to go south is far more dangerous IMO. I generally won't even do that unless I'm on the bike or in the wife's Z4 and have the horsepower gods on tap. So if I'm coming south on 235, I prefer to go down to Park Hall road and turn right to get to Cooks. Even with idiots turning onto Park Hall cutting that lane to take the left, far less dangerous.
