Someone at work just told me that there was an incident at the WaWa on Billingsly in Waldorf (don't know if it the one at 228 and Western Pkwy or the one at 301 and Billingsly) and that is now an active crime scene. Anyone have further details?

Happened around 0730. Sounded like it was an off duty Federal Protection Officer that shot himself in the leg.
I'm thinking there must have been something else going on for him to draw his weapon but I wasn't able to listen to anymore this morning.

I was thinking the same thing at first but then I got to thinking about it. I just hope he didn't have kids. Then again, he is someones kid. Things are really bad for some people right now and maybe it was just too much. Anyone know if it was a fatal shot?

See the post above you. I deleted my message but you quoted me before I got it I guess.

Was a off duty Federal Protection Officer, he had the gun in his pocket and was removing it for some reason, weapon went off shot himself in the leg, hit the artery and nearly bleed to death, witness removed his belt and used it as a turnakit(sp) to stop bleeding, proably saved his life, they flew him out, thats my story and Im sticking to it.

Firearm Law #3: Finger off the trigger until you're on the target. I hope he's OK, I also hope they revoke his ability to carry on the job.

"Typical White Person"
"gun went off", code speak for "I pulled the trigger", one way or another, I'm willing to bet, the trigger was pulled.

Shouldn't be hard to prove. Did the gun go off? Yes. Then the trigger was pulled. Next!

I absolutely love that video. I know, kinda sick and demented...but still so very telling of how "they" who are entitled to carry are so much more qualified than "us" who are denied the right to carry.

Not his fault, it sounds like the round must have cooked off inside the chamber. Sorry, just kidding. I was trying to make him the victim and the gun being the obvious culprit in this incident. Just goes to show that an inanimate object (such as a firearm) requires some form of human interaction in order to be dangerous. Guns cannot “accidentally” go off, but they can be negligently discharged. Don’t ban guns, ban negligent people.

I hope the guy makes a full recovery, but I also hope he has learned valuable lessons.
Lesson 1. Treat every weapon as if it were loaded.
Lesson 2. Keep your finger straight and off the trigger until you intend to fire.
Lesson 3. Never cover anything with your muzzle that you do not intend to shoot.
Lesson 4. Be sure of your target and what lies beyond.

Salute to Col. Cooper!
All guns are always loaded. Even if they are not, treat them as if they are.

Never let the muzzle cover anything you are not willing to destroy.

Keep your finger off the trigger till your sights are on the target. This is the Golden Rule.

Identify your target, and what is behind it. Never shoot at anything that you have not positively identified.
