of people who feel like going postal today. Why do I have to yell at my three year old to get her to do anything?

Me: Honey, go get your dress on (we were already dressed before she stripped naked as usual) so we can get ready to go

3 year old: {play, play play}

Me: Honey???

3YO: {play, play, play}

Me: {gets to her level, voiced slightly raised} "Honey get dressed, now"

3YO {gets up and runs around in circles} "I'm getting dizzy mommy"

Me: {yelling} GET DRESSED!!!

3YO: "Mommy, why are you yelling?"

:jameo:

There is an easy solution.

You: Honey, please get dressed now.
Her: Play play play
You: Honey, I know you are having fun playing, but you need to get dressed because it is time to go.
Her: Play play play
You: You can either get dressed or stand in the corner. Which would you like to do?

Anyone who would argue with or threaten a 3 year old, deserves to have an unruly child.

I agree.

With my kids, if they don't obey after I tell them ONCE, I punch them in the kidneys as hard as I can.

They may pee blood for a couple of days, but they learn real quick to listen when I speak.

My pediatrician tells me it's their job to challenge and test you. So I ask once, and then ask if they want to stay home. Most days we are headed to the playground and that is motivation to get ready. I also use the timeout chair, you can do what I ask or sit in time out.

Ya know, I love kids but sometimes I don't think the 18 years is worth the 18 seconds....:lmao:

:killingme

Actually though I am feeling fine again. She was a perfect angel while we were out so I will take the 'behaving in public' over 'behaving at home' any day!! **That being said I would love both but given the option of the two...ykwim.

We all have those days. I like the Ikea ad where the mom takes a "timeout" in her room
